News.com reports here: Portable music devices like Apple Computer’s iPod Nano are expected to top this year’s holiday shopping lists, which market watchers say will fall into two main categories: very portable or extremely stationary.

Wish lists for gadgeteers on the go are likely to feature gizmos including MP3 players, Sony’s PlayStation Portable and handsets from Motorola and Samsung. For homebodies, Microsoft’s just-released Xbox 360 and high-definition televisions in either the plasma or LCD variety are expected to be hot sellers.

OK I originally bought these JBL Creature II Self-Powered Satellite Speakers for my wifes iPod so she can connect her MP3 player at home and listen to her music collection. Now I was looking on how to improve the TV’s sound system without buying any expensive home theater and since those JBL Creature II Self-Powered Satellite Speakers where already in the living room so why not connect those. All I needed was to buy a cable so I could connect on one side to the TV audio outlet and on the other to the speaker system. Easily done that and turned up the volume on the TV. Sounds great and so now we have a TV with home theater surround sound effect without buying to much new equipment.
