4 out of 5 stars Logitech VX Revolution Cordless Laser Mouse   September 24, 2008

Love this mouse. Functions well and smooth movement. USB receiver hides in the mouse when not in use which also turns off/on the mouse automatically. Great feature.

-1 star because the buttons (left/right click) are somewhat (minor) stiff to click.

5 out of 5 stars Best Mouse I have ever used   September 20, 2008
This is truly the best mouse I have ever used. It moves so smoothly, it's great. The extra buttons on the top and side provide customization that increases my productivity while on the web. The scroll wheel has the click and fast setting, both are really great. I don't use the fast setting as much just because it is so fast! The USB hub for the mouse is very small and I barely notice it. The mouse is very comfortable to touch and use for many hours straight.
I highly recommend this product-definitely worth the price!

3 out of 5 stars A serviceable mouse on the go   September 15, 2008

I first bought the Revolution because I wanted a mouse to play WoW on my MacBookPro. I chose a cordless mouse to maximize my mobility. The Revolution connects to the computer with a small dongle that sticks out about an inch. Most of the time this wasn't a problem, but one one occasion Indy ran by and knocked over my laptop. The computer was fine (thank you MagSafe adapter!), but the USB dongle snapped clean off and I had to replace the mouse.

The Revolution has a nice form factor. I have small hands, and the Revolution is a smaller mouse. It is ergonomically designed and I never have any wrist pain when using it, even after hours and hours of scrolling and clicking. It is reasonably accurate without noticeable lag. the "Hyper-scroll" feature is great for heavy surfing and certain games. The battery life is reasonable - I have to change the two AAs about once every 3-4 months.

4 out of 5 stars A good mouse packed with features   September 12, 2008

Pros:
- very smooth scroll wheel
- ergonomic feel, somehow my wrist hurts less using this mouse
- decent battery life
- excellent precision
- a variety of mouse button such as side scroll, search, zoom, forward, back.
- Wireless receiver for USB port stores inside mouse

Cons:
- not all of the mouse button features work. They are convenient but I am not going to go through all of the trouble to try and find out how to program and assign these buttons
- laser tracking can get kinda weak depending on surface. I had a table that was not smooth, like a matte surface and the laser could not interpret the movements accurately.

overall, i still thought it was a very good mouse, but a bit pricey.

1 out of 5 stars Not a mouse for power users   August 20, 2008

Honestly, perhaps the most pathetic mouse I have ever handled. And I'm surprised. I did a lot of research before buying it, and was expecting a good mouse. I have used the Logitech MX 1000, the very best mouse they have ever made bar-none, and the LX7, not a bad mouse either, but I lost the receiver for it, and needed a new one.

So, the main issue with this mouse. Control. You have none. The thing just bounces all over the show with a mind of its own. Scrolling is a total and complete joke. There's a profound lack of consistency in anything the mouse does. You should be able to get used to a mouse to the point that you know exactly what hand movement is needed to click any spot on your screen. Not with this mouse, it's all guess work. Clicks often don't register, and when clicking and dragging, the cursor often just stays still as you're dragging the mouse.

So this mouse is going back today. Sorry Amazon, not your fault, but if you sell a crappy item, you're asking for it.

And yes, I do find it odd that all these reviews are so good here. Perhaps they are Windows PC users who are simply not use to the level of control and pin-point accuracy we ARE used to on the Mac.
