What kind of battery does it take? July 14, 2003 18 out of 22 found this review helpful
Coast uses exotic (i.e., expensive) batteries in its lights. I bought one for my daughter, and it turned out to use a camera battery. You'll be better off with one that uses standard (i.e., C or D cell) batteries. They are available from other manufacturers. Note that Coast does not specify the battery type in its descriptions. Not good.
bright and trendy, but... April 20, 2003 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
When I ordered this torch I was enamored by the triple LED feature and the solid good looks of a spun aluminum body. When I received it, the package met visual expectations, and the first night walk through the backyard using the torch was intensely illuminated. After a few weeks, however, the rubber on-off switch cap broke off, and now I have to say that is the achilles heel of this otherwise quite handy torch.
Strong, bright, durable, long-lasting, the perfect companion December 31, 2002 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
This was a Christmas present for a hard-to-shop for relative. The description sounded very interesting, and I decided it would be a good gift. After receiving the Torch, I was amazed how well it was made, the light was brilliantly bright. The on/off button is easy to use, and the Torch is built very sturdy. The Torch produces a wide range of light. It also comes with a carrying case to keep the finish in good shape.
Quite happy! December 17, 2002 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
I bought this as a gift for the person I selected in the company grab bag, and I had a chance to test it out, and I must say, I'm quite impressed with the flashlight. I haven't tested it for shock or battery life, but the unit is quite bright and it was a nice gift for a person who liked gadgets.
Great gift for the guys December 2, 2002 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
Very bright flashlight (don't look directly into the light). This will make a great gift for the guys in your life, especially if they have to have the latest stuff. The LED means no replacing bulbs and the batteries will last longer. This type of light is not yet generally available, so they probably won't have one yet. This is a small handheld flashlight, ideal for the car or camping trips. Be sure to buy one for yourself, too.
