 Good Key Box June 4, 2008
I was looking for an inexpensive key box for a vacation rental. This is easy to operate and is secure. I would recommend it.

We bought the Master Lock Select Access Wall Mounted Key Storage Box to put keys for renters who rent our cabin. It's heavy and has a very solid feel. The size is good; not too clunky or obtrusive. It mounts securely with four screws (provided) through the inside of the box. It sits flush to the wall making it difficult to pry off with a crowbar. Even then power tools would be necessary to break into it.
The numbered dials are a little stiff to operate, but not excessively. They are reflective, and that makes reading the combination a little tricky in poor light. The lever opens the box easily when the combination is dialed in. Like a bike lock, you have to scramble the dials after you close it.
Inside the box is space for keys, of course - that's the whole point. A little hook or two to hang them on would have been helpful.
Setting your own combination is a snap; very, very easy.
If it had non-reflective dials and a hook inside, this would easily rate "five stars".
The most important part is, this product is solid, well made, and a good value.

After having tried to hide keys in various places outside the house for years I decided to try this storage box for more convenience/security. The box is well made and easy to use. Four screws will securely hold it to a wall and thwart any simple attempts to gain access. However, a bad guy with a 5 pound hammer could break it off/apart with a few hard smacks. For this reason I mounted it in an area within plain sight of neighbors, but not easily seen by someone passing by. Also, I remove the key whenever I travel out of town. My family knows to keep an occasional eye on the box to be sure it's still in place and undamaged. For the convenience and peace of mind it provides I think it's worth consideration.
Great Key Storage Box May 26, 2008
After almost getting locked out of the house with my toddler on a cold rainy day, I decided I needed to have a way to keep a spare key handy. This box is very secure, easy to use, and can hold several keys at once. I like the shutter that protects the dials from the elements and the fact that you can easily change the combination after a guest or worker accesses the keys. It is a product that helps me have peace of mind!

This product is a perfect size and shape. It is easy to open and to mount. I bought 4 and plan to purchase more. They can be used inside as well as outside the house. The little door that closes over the combination is great.
