5 out of 5 stars Classic style and - No batteries!   December 8, 2005

I bought this for my mom and dad, and it's perfect. Numbers are big, clear and easy to read, and you don't need to buy (or replace, or pollute with) batteries.

Temp readings are accurate, and it's neat to watch the indicator arm creep up as it gets hotter. I bought this one rather than a digital because it's a really beautiful thing - and I didn't want ugly green or gray digital numbers hanging on the library wall. Guaranteed for life, so it must be made in the US, (They are made in Vermont - or at least the lovely brass casings are.)
