Great mouse for the price. September 4, 2008 I bought this for my wife to use on her laptop. She has small hands so this was a perfect mouse. It tracks well and has a short cord which stays out of the way. If you want one for your desktop system get something else as the cable is VERY short.
I'm returning this mouse today August 28, 2008 First of all I would like to say that the mouse worked the first time without a hitch. However, there are two problems with this mouse.
1) The USB cable on it is not long enough to plug into the left side of a laptop (a lot of laptops have USB ports on the left side-like my Compaq Presario). It cannot plug into the left side of the laptop and then extend around the laptop for use on the right side of the machine. For anyone who is right handed you have to put the cable directly underneath the laptop...and then there is barely enough room for the mouse to move around. So if your machine has a USB port on the left side of the machine, and you are right handed, forget this mouse. It's unbearably tight.
2) It is too small for an average hand. My hands are average size. Holding the mouse creates a side to side tension in my hand because I have to 'cuddle' the mouse to hang on to it. I'm sure that after several more days of use I would have a problem with my hand/muscles.
I recommend this mouse only for children or people with very small hands and who have a USB port on the front or right side of their laptop. Otherwise, forget it.
I further cannot understand why Logitech would fail to mention these unusual features on the product packaging.
Shame on them for misleading the buyers.
Very comfortable mouse for small hands! January 6, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Being a woman with small hands, I found this to be the PERFECT size for me, and the ergonomic shape is a bonus. It is absolutely THE most comfortable mouse I've ever had. I bought it for use with my desktop computer and wasn't surprised to find that the cable is too short--so I'll need an extender. I'm considering buying one with my own money to take into work--that's how much I like it!
Decent, but a few issues December 30, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Doesn't jump around at all for me, unlike the mouse I was using before, but you have to go to the Logitech website in order to download the drivers, since it doesn't come with a CD.
The biggest problem I have with the mouse, though, is that the mousewheel feels a bit "loose"--sometimes it will scroll up or down a line when I just jiggle the wheel a bit, without it actually clicking. This happens most often when I'm trying to press the wheel as a button. A bit annoying.
Upon installation, the SetPoint software will detect whether you have a trackpad and make the software settings apply only to the mouse, but incidentally it also makes the Windows mouse sensitivity (not the SetPoint one) reset to a default value every time you boot up. I had to manually disable it so that I could use my trackpad at the sensitivity I wanted.
nice replacement laptop mouse June 6, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Initially, the V100 mouse 'blue screened' my Dell 700m laptop running XP PRO after swapping out my Logitech travelmouse. Confirmed it was an issue with the V100 mouse and my laptop setup; problem resolved after installing V100 driver. I incorrectly assumed the Logitech drivers were generic enough for all Logitech mice, but this is not so.
The V100 mouse is much nicer than my old Logitech travelmouse; more functionality and better ergonomic feel. My other laptop mouse is a mighty mouse on my Macbook.
