Amazon.com Product Description REVIEW: Complete a powerful home theater system with the deep, driving bass of the Klipsch KSW-12 powered subwoofer--perfect for combing with high-performance Klipsch Synergy Series surround sound configurations. It couples a 12-inch driver to the floor for optimal performance. This subwoofer's high-output, down-firing design "grips" the air and fills a room with low frequency energy that's heard and felt with undetectable distortion. The built-in discrete MOSFET amplifier and 12-inch fiber-composite woofer are as efficient as they are reliable. It provides 105 watts of FTC-rated continuous power, and it has a dynamic power rating of 440 watts. (Dynamic power indicates the actual power this amplifier will deliver to the woofer under normal operating conditions.) The woofer is composed of a Santoprene rubber surround with a fiber composite cone which enables Klipsch subwoofers to deliver on their promise of extended bass response and maximum reliability. This subwoofer accepts LFE, line-level, and speaker level inputs, making it easy to add to the Quintet Microsystem, the Synergy System 6, or any other Klipsch inspired arrangement. The KSW-12's jet ash veneer vinyl finish creates a deceivingly subtle exterior for its earthshaking sound capabilities. What's in the Box One KSW-12 subwoofer speaker

Border line high end sub for the penny penching consumer. August 3, 2008 I purchased two of these home subwoofers and they deliver bass that beats many other subs on the market at this price. For $300 dollars you can be assured that you are definitely getting more than you have paid for. Klipsh has always delivered a high quality of sound for their customers and now myself. I watch many movies, play many video games and listen to vast amounts of music. By my experience with this product it is definitely a good investment to impress your family, visitors, and most importantly, yourself. I have never had a problem with the off beat of music. The bass has hit everytime it should have. I would recommend this product to anyone who can afford the very low $300 price.
Know what you are buying February 6, 2008 This model is a few years old. The current model is the SUB-12 which is priced quite a bit higher. Klipsch calls this model a Classic Synergy. I bought this one and saved the money and it is meeting my needs perfectly, but you should know what you are buying before you order one.
subwoofer died on me January 4, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased this sub 2 years ago. It was a very large investment (nearly $500 at the time) for a subwoofer. Approx 2 months ago, it died. Now i'm back to using the old sub that i was using prior to buying this and not really missing this $500 sub as much as I though I would. I don't think I would invest this much in a sub again as the cheaper subs sound reasonable for a mid-fi system.
Excellent Product June 8, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have Klipsch surround speakers in my family room and since it is a large room, I wanted a 12" subwoofer. I looked at and listened to several that were quite a bit more expensive. I am no audiophile, but to me the Klipsch sounded just as good as the more expensive ones. It made a tremendous difference in my sound. The only issue I have had is the size. It is so large I can't hide it in a cabinet or anything. But I would have had that problem with any 12" unit.
Awesome.... April 4, 2007 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
If anything I wish this didn't work so well. My husband loves to turn it up and make our house vibrate. I can't believe something so small makes such a BIG sound!
