 Excellent form AND function October 10, 2008
It has an interestingly elegant form factor, plenty of ports for my usage, and I really like the extra 2 ports on the top for quick transfers. I'm really happy with this thing!
 Unreliable October 3, 2008
I bought this device about 6 months ago. It's been unreliable, and inconsistent. Sometimes it works for weeks without an issue. Sometimes it fails multiple times in the same day. Sometimes I can get it to work by unplugging all the cables and plugging them back in again. Sometimes nothing I do makes a difference, and I just have to wait for it to feel like working again. Today I bought a replacement from a different manufacturer, and tomorrow I am going to drop the Belkin off a tall building. (Not really, but I wish I could!)
Excellent USB hub September 13, 2008
The hub has plenty of ports, 7 in all, with 5 in the rear if the unit and 2 more accessible ones on top. The cable management is a nice little touch. A very good value.

The Belkin USB 2.0 Plus Hub (7 Port) F5U307-WHT is the answer to the proliferating number of usb devices on my desk. I love my new Imac both for both its form and its function. But I dont love having all the usb ports on the back, and not enough of them at that. Now I can have my external hard drive, card reader, usb headset, keyboard, printer, and Ipod all connected at the same time. Yes!

When I installed the hub, and moved some USB plugs around, my computer would not boot up. On a previous occasion with a similar problem I had called a tech, and learned how to deal with this: remove every USB plug-in and put them in one by one, booting up each time. So I only removed the ones that I thought were causing the problem. It worked...but it had been my hope to reduce the number of wires behind my computer. The hub works, but I can only use it for new or a few things like my camera and my turntable. I think my problem was unrelated to the hub.
