Fell apart October 22, 2004 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Mine fell apart after just a month of use. The hinging mechanism is very flimsy and I don't think it can really handle the weight.
Excellent case August 17, 2004 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
After getting fed up with a couple of 200 CD holders, I decided to try out one of these. Wow! What a difference not only in quality but also in ease of use and accessability.
I have filled up both of my 200 CD cases and using them is a pain. When filled up they are difficult to zipper closed and they have also come apart due to the sheer girth of these cases.
This case is wonderful. No zippers mean I don't have to worry about scratching my CD's as I put them into their holders. Plus, they hold up. I've filled up both of mine and they continue to secure the discs from harm with no problems. Opening them is easy and they stay shut when closed.
Now that's it's been over a year since I purchased my first, there is only one problem: the plastic lining the case where you close it is starting to peel off. So if you do get one you may want to add some super glue or adhesive to the plastic lining just to make sure it stays in place through the years. Other than that you will be *very* satisfied with these cases!
Great case! April 17, 2004 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I really like CD Projects (Targus) steel cases for computer games, applications and burned CD's. The 60 capacity cases are quite nice. The bubble sleeves protect the CD's and the cases are sturdy and well-constructed. I specifically looked for this case because it's not widely available at stores.
I bought another February 6, 2004 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
actually 4.3 or something. I can stand on it and kick it and throw it in my bag and everythign is fine. I just bought because I care about my cds. There is a rubber lip on the outiside which is messed up on one because I closed it on something. However, once i dropped it and the CDs sleeves broke out. The are attached by a hard plastic ring broke. I would suggest buying a few of those also
Good CD protection, bad design December 8, 2002 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
I've owned the CD Steel Case for about 2 years. The steel shell is strong and durable, and ideal if you tend to treat your CD collection roughly. But it makes for a rather bulky, (not to mention very heavy) case. My main problem with this case is its poor design. When filled to capacity the interior is rather cramped, and it is difficult to flip through your collection. The detachable sleeves are a nice feature, but once again, when you fill up this case, the lack of space makes the sleeves virtually impossible to reattach. Overall, I would recommend this case for those who require heavy duty storage at the expense of poor cd accessability.
