Radio Facilatates Rescue August 18, 2008 On our first trip out with the radio, we got stuck out in Pamlico Sound in the dark, in a small sailboat, with a storm coming up. We wanted to go into Ocracoke Harbor, but the increasing winds were coming straight up the channel. We called on Channel 16, the Coast Guard answered and towed us in. Battery still has juice from its initial charge. One comment on the manual is it did not mention that if you are in the Emergency Channel 16 mode, the Menu Key will not get you to the Weather Channels.
Marine Handheld Radio July 31, 2008 It works great. The earpiece was especially helpful as my husband directed boating friends at a recent rendezvous.
Terrible Radio July 10, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Bought 2. One broke after 15 minutes. The other doesn't contact my neighbor 100 feet away. Waste of lots of money. Midland let me down.
Motorola next.
Great Marine Radio! June 27, 2008 This is a perfect handheld radio for weekend marine use or even a backup for more serious boaters. This radio is easy to use and comes with great accessories. The reception is great and it does everything I was needing. I use this radio on my boat during weekend outings and it has come in handy on several occasions.
Good value in a VHF Marine Radio June 22, 2008 Good product although not waterproof as the ad alluded to. They provide a plastic sleeve which makes it "waterproof". Good, crisp audio quality with decent range. For the price, it is a good buy.
