Once slid upward, the phone's easy-to-use standard keypad is revealed--which is precision cut from a single sheet of nickel-plated copper alloy--as well as an abstract tattoo on the reverse side. A large 176 x 220 color display with 262,000 colors is included at the top of the slider. You won't have to constantly slide the phone open to access controls, thanks to most of the controls for the phones features and on-screen accessed via the five-way center button on the handset's upper slider. The RIZR V3 also includes a full range of function buttons on the side (including keys for voice commands, activating the camera, and menu selection). 
Built into the phone's back is a 2-megapixel camera with 8x digital zoom and LED flash. | Hidden behind the RIZR V3's eye-catching design is a powerful digital camera that features an LED flash, an 8x zoom, brightness control, full-screen viewfinder, and a night mode. You can choose to shoot in four sizes--2 megapixel, 1.3 megapixel, 640x80 pixels, and 320x240 pixels--as well as choose from three quality settings. I bought this phone from T-Mobile as an upgrade. I have not had some of the problems other reviewers have mentioned (slow response, phone dying), but I agree that it is poorly made. After having it for little more than a year, the tiny round button in the middle of the circle fell off, leaving a sticky residue on the white rubber of the button pad underneath. Well, okay, still useable. A few weeks later, the circular button also came off (leaving a gross sticky residue). I continued to use it although it was awkward trying to press the buttons that, without the black covering buttons, are tiny nubs under white rubber. The rest of the buttons on the faceplate are metal. I found this out when the T-zones/internet button caught on something and got bent out. Now the phone stabs me in the leg if I carry it in my pocket, and I have to be careful not to scratch or cut my face when talking on it. I'm sure there must be a better phone for the money. Based on this phone, and a previous Motorola model I owned, I will not be buying a Motorola product again.

Honestly, I don't know why this phone is being so slammed. It is a perfect phone, with a speaker soo loud that you can here it from miles away. It is easy to hold and use. The phone is a compact, strong piece of material, but looks very sleek and smooth. The sound is great and if you missed a phone call, it actually has a reminder beep. I don't know any other phone who does that. I highly recommand it, especially since it's for free, when you sign up with t-mobile.

DON'T buy this phone. RIZR z3 is a worst phone I have ever used. The camera is so called 2MP, it is a joke! The picture taken at best resolution is still bad and no auto focus. The reaction of the phone is very very very slow. Signal is very bad. At the same office, my old Nokia phone has full bars of signal but this phone got almost no signal. So far, the power button has a problem and the phone was turned off by itself very often and the screen is out of order. There are a lot of white lines on the screen.
Finally, I would say, this phone is just a piece of juke!

I like many of the features on this phone. With the expandable mini sd card I now have +300 songs and +10 movies on my phone which keep me busy especially when traveling. If you haven't already done so, make sure to download mini opera onto this phone which will give you a great browser almost identical to firefox for cruising the web. Picture quality from the camera is decent in well lit areas, but not very good anywhere else. Sound and Video quality are ok, unfortunately many of the optional stereo headsets that fit the mini usb port suck, if you purely want an mp3 player you're better off with a nokia. Browser/internet speed is ok, once again make sure to get the mini opera application or something similar, the one which is supplied with the phone is horrible. With mini opera I can fully access Facebook, hotmail, myspace, even outlook webmail, also Google has some great applications like mobile GMail and Google Maps that work great on this phone. Overall pretty good for the money.
Not amazing, not terrible August 1, 2008
I've had this phone for 7 months now and have had just a few problems. The main center button and the arrow buttons have fallen off (apparently the glue isn't strong enough) but it is still usable, I just have to press where the buttons were a little harder. Also, for about 2 months, the phone would randomly restart every once in a while but that seems to have stopped. Otherwise I haven't had any problems with the phone. It looks nice - when the buttons are all intact - and should last you a while. The battery never dies as long as you charge it every night, which isn't a problem.
