Amazon.com Product Description The Bose 3-2-1 GS II system offers simplicity, ease, and superb sound. Just two visible speaker arrays and a hideaway Acoustimass module deliver full sound without the wires and cabinetry inherent in traditional surround sound systems. The system includes a progressive scan DVD/CD player with AM/FM tuner. A programmable universal remote control lets you manage all your entertainment devices. The Gemstone speaker array employs the most powerful 3-2-1 speakers to date and provides a spaciousness to audio that enhances movies and music. The 3-2-1 system is equipped with Videostage 5 decoding circuitry to improve audio-classic movies and TV sound almost like surround sound. As with all Bose equipment, minimal space requirements prevail. The lack of center and rear speakers in the system save space without sacrificing quality. And the new speakers are 50% smaller than previous models-big things from a small package, indeed.

Bose 321 November 25, 2008 The Bose 321 system is great for a 3 speaker system! The quick delivery by Amazon rocks!!
Great System...but not for everyone November 1, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
For some reason, folks speak about the 321 with great disdain. The fact is that this system is great, just not for everyone.
The best piece of advice I can give before buying this system is going to your local Bose store and getting some advice on placement. I actually talked to one of their install techs and he told me that the 321 is really only designed to provide good surround performance for a small room, such as a den or office. Our setup is exactly this (~11x13), and I love how it works there. True, I don't get "true" surround, but in small rooms, you don't have room for much more and 5 speakers is going to be overkill anyways. I recently hooked up my Blu-ray (Sony BDP-S350) to the system and the sound is phenomenal.
With regards to the "format unsupported" comments, I have only found that this happens when the DVD's or CD's are from "questionable" sources (you know what these are). In my experience I have found that the system has no problems with 95% of home-burned CD's and DVD's.
In summary, ignore the reviews and do some research on your own. If you need a surround system for a small room, you can't go wrong. If you need perfect surround sound, go elsewhere. Personally, I would recommend talking to
Excellent system! Just update your firmware! October 11, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Great Media Center! The sound is excellent. For those who have had software quirks, check out this forum and download the ISO to update the firmware on your 321-I,I-GS,II,II-GS system! http://homeavi.pro-forums.com/index.php
unsupported format September 21, 2008 bought a year ago and was fine then started locking up during store bought DVDs. The open DVD tray and close for 10 min just to get it to work again. been an avid bose follower till this now will only by speakers from them. AT $900 you would think it would last. save money and by SONY...
Bose Corp Ought to be Ashamed!!! August 4, 2008 As we all know, Bose products are expensive. I will pay the extra amount because I want the best possible sound within a price range which is not exorbitant.
Bose products which I have purchased are the following: a wave radio with the CD feature. two sets of headphones. and a surround sound system. Furthermore, the Bose system in the car I purchased was very instrumental in that purchase. In other words, I have been a loyal and satisfied Bose customer.
When I moved into a condo, I wanted a surround sound system that was compact yet provided an in-theater sound. Without hesitation, I visited the Bose website and read about the 321 GS Series. It met my needs perfectly, and it was a Bose product. I thought I was set. Wrong!!
I have owned this system for a little over a year now, and it has been relegated to a sound sytem for my other CD and DVD players. Nearly all the CD's and DVD's that I try to play on it, will not play. If you buy one get used to seeing "Format Not Supported" across the screen. (I hope this does not become Bose's new motto) Also, the sound system will go bad from time to time, and must be disconnected and reconnected to get it to perform properly.
This is not a Bose product which I would recommend. It is terrible. If I had to do it over again I would definitely go in a different direction.
Bose has great products, but this "ain't" one of them.
