Amazon.com Product Description Panasonic's KX-TG2302B cordless phone was designed for users with common vision impairments. With extra-large buttons (more than twice the size of normal ones) and an illuminated keypad, the phone also features a large handset locator button on the phone's base. The KX-TG2302B utilizes 2.4 GHz frequency-hopping digital spread spectrum technology for reduced interference and improved range and clarity. Plus, Voice Enhancer technology better reproduces the full range of the human voice. Additional features include handset speakerphone, headset compatibility, adjustable ringer volume, and wall mounting capability. The phone also comes with a belt clip and shoulder rest attachment to relieve fatigue. Reduced Interference, Improved Security against Eavesdropping 2.4 GHz Frequency-Hopping Spread Spectrum Technology. That's a mouthful, but what does it mean? Panasonic cordless phone technology "hops" constantly through a range of available channels to reduce interference and to provide improved security against eavesdropping. And since it is all digital technology, you get long range and incredible clarity. Hear the Highs and Lows of Your Conversation Panasonic Voice Enhancer Technology helps clarify and improve sound reception, creating a natural-sounding voice that is easy to hear and understand. What's the secret? It simulates a bandwidth signal above and below the bandwidth limitations of a normal phone signal, so you hear a sound that is closer to the actual voice. Do You Have Trouble Seeing Your Phone's Keypad? Our lighted, big-button keypad is just what the doctor ordered for people with vision deficiencies. If you have any trouble seeing, reading or dialing the buttons on a normal telephone keypad, this phone was designed just for you. Put the Phone Down While You Talk Having a handset speakerphone may not seem like such a big deal-until you have to call an automated phone system. By the time you press "2" and return the phone to your ear, you missed half the next option! And when they put you on hold for ten minutes, do you really need to hold the phone? Not with the handset speakerphone. Just listen along, and press a button or pick up when it's convenient. You'll think up other great uses, like letting Grandma and Grandpa listen to their new grandchild at the same time or just being able to set the phone down while you talk. What's in the Box KX-TG2302B cordless phone base, handset, AC power adapter, phone line cord, shoulder rest attachment, belt clip, NiMH battery, user guide, warranty information

Excellent phone for elderly July 5, 2008 This Panasonic cordless phone is the closest I could find to a previous model of the same brand. For my ninety year old mother whose eyesight is extremely impaired, I think all the buttons should be white, especially the on and off button. I also find that she has trouble with the placement of the on/off button when she is talking on the phone -- her cheek often presses the button and the phone goes off. Otherwise I am happy with this purchase. Big white buttons for numbers are great. The on/off, flash, and volume buttons would be easier to read if they were white. I placed velcro near these buttons so she could feel where they are. I know the regular model phone is much easier to read, but she likes the cordless because she can access it easily from her walker.
Awesome Phone January 12, 2008 This phone works with wireless networks, has the big buttons so my older parents can use it comfortably.... I own this one, and the model with the answering machine, and we use them both daily and they have held up very well in my opinion!
Good phone for elderly people December 7, 2007 I bought this phone for my grandma and she likes it! It's a simple basic phone, has no fancy functions to confuse her. Big buttons and lighted keypad are very handy for her arthritic hands and bad vision. The speaker and the headset volume are loud enough for her to hear clearly. It's light and comfortable to hold, the belt clip is a plus. It's a little expensive for a basic phone, but there are very few alternatives to choose from for elderly people.
"Factory Inspected" means the product is not NEW. November 17, 2007 Panasonic KX-TG2302B 2.4 GHz FHSS GigaRange Big Button Digital Cordless Telephone Amazon offered this product for sale as NEW. The box had a label tape, "FACTORY INSPECTED", that had to be broken to remove the telephone. Prior experience told me this was a REFURBISHED OR RETURNED PRODUCT and would only carry a 90 day warranty instead of their usual one year warranty. I called Panasonic and they confirmed my suspicions. Communications with Amazon resulted in Amazon warranting the product for one year. Amazon said they would look into this problem. I haven't heard back from them in three weeks. Amazon needs to correct this serious breech. Products such as this do not sell for as much as NEW PRODUCTS. I feel I've been cheated.
Works well! October 21, 2007 Good quality, but no caller ID,I bought a call ID at big lots for $3.00.
