It was difficult to configure even with 8 hours of phone support and a unnecessary RMA. It lacks key features of a competitors product, like load balancing, web control via Firefox (a number of javascript break), DHCP list and Load balancing configuration while cable active. When Comcast reset line and modem/router connects, load balancing is no longer selectable and will no longer list DHCP addresses discovered or handed out.

I returned the Netgear FVS336G after it stopped working a mere 2 weeks after I purchased it (thanks for the great return process Amazon!). While the Netgear was working, I found it to be much less configurable, and much more difficult to use, than the Syswan Duolinks SW24 VPN (which I also purchased from Amazon). The Syswan is a superior product at a fraction of the cost; I'd recommend it over the Netgear any day.

I have tried out a couple different Load balancers and by far this is the least featured one of them all. The biggest issue is that it does NOT load balance. You can park specific traffic to an individual port but it will not dynamically load balance.
For example you can pin HTTPS to port 1 or two but standard HTTP traffic will also only use a single default port. There is other products out there like SYSWAN, and linksys that actually do TRUE algoithmic load balancing for less money
If you want to be able to use both lines for one traffic do not buy this product. Go for the SYSWAN which I know for a fact works.

I was hoping for (probably) the impossible. Yes, this does switch between my cable and DSl, but it is not instantaneous. I also attempted to use the "both at once" option, but this does not work well for browsing. I guess if I had more time, I could do s more careful setup by specifying which type of packet should go via both paths, and which should not. It would have been helpful if they had given recommendations on how to set it up for those of us who don't want to fiddle, or even preset the most common arrangement.
The built-in 1000T hub is nice, and the firewall seems to work well. I have had occasion where nothing was going through, and by disconnecting and reconnecting my cable to the computer (forcing a reestablishment of a connection) it started working again (the led's on the two modems seemed to indicate they were working). I am not sure what this is about. Only seemed to happen on one day.... ???
One of the other things I noticed was that it was very fast throughput wise. I had another firewall before, and noticed a significant faster browser reasponse with the new one. That was an unexpected bonus.
If you want to have automatic switchover between 2 ISP's this is it. I don't know about sharing both at the same time.

This little box is awesome. This is for anyone who has multiple internet connections, multiple static IP addresses, multiple home servers, or any other problem that a "home router" can't handle. Gigabit ports and the custom NAT rules allow a home server, a desktop computer, and a NAS can talk to each other at raw Gigabit speed.
The best feature isn't obvious until you're half way through the initial configuration - it's actually easy to set up. The web GUI is clear, full of help, responsive, and it tells you about potential conflicts. The owner's guide is all about how to create your network. It doesn't waste your time with Windows screenshots. Ping, traceroute, DNS, and packet sniffing tools are built-in for troubleshooting mistakes without yanking wires.
A test of NAT showed about 52Mbps, which isn't too bad for a small box. The only bug I've seen so far is that routing might not work immediately after setting up a custom NAT rule.
