Amazon.com Product Description Outfitted with a 900 MHz wireless transmitter, these Acoustic Research headphones broadcast a signal through walls, floors, and ceilings at distances of up to 300 feet, letting users wander far from the music source or TV without losing the audio. The phones are ideal for people who get up frequently while working in an office setting, along with listeners who just like to move freely while enjoying high-quality music. Listeners can even walk outdoors wearing the AW771 phones--no line of sight is required between the headphones and transmitter. Thankfully, the audio quality doesn't suffer from the wireless connection. In fact, it excels thanks to the 40 mm driver elements, which deliver rich, nuanced sound with deep bass highlights. The system also comes with an RF noise reduction system that minimizes noise and interference, so listeners won't be bothered by stray radio waves. The AW771 includes a pair of dual swiveling ear cups, which adjust from side to side to fit almost any size of ear. The velvet padding also makes the cups comfortable to wear, as does the soft, self-adjusting headband. Should you own two 900 MHz devices, the AW771 transmitter offers a channel select switch that changes the frequency to accommodate both products. The phones also come with rechargeable NiMH batteries that power up when the ear cups are placed in the transmitting base. What's in the Box AW771 headphones, transmitter/charging base, NiMH batteries, user's manual.

Good sound, Good product November 2, 2007 This product is awesome. I have had it for more than 2 years now and its simply great. The sound is great and the reception has a reasonable range about 30 meters or so depending on the type of walls you have. The original battery last for about 20 to 30 hours before you need to recharge it. You can certainly get better rechargeable batteries that last longer.
  Fiddle,fiddle,fiddle February 26, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this head phone expecting the best, but got the worst. There is so much adjusting of various switches each time you use them that you might feel like you are a radio engineer. Also, living in a large city you have to contend with other head phones, cordless telephones and the like using the same frequency which causes most of the audio problems. i would stick to infra-red headphones (even though they are not as portable).
Fickle Technology - Not worth the time February 19, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I got these headphones exspecting great things. The thought of being able to just turn the computer on a internet-radio station and wander off while I paint or such in another room was tempting enough to provoke my purchase. A purchase I majorly regret. This product is definetly money down the drain. Oh it works all right, dont get me wrong. It works for 3-5 seconds at a time followed by 30seconds of silence. The headphones constantly fuzz out, loosing connection with the tower. Even when sitting not even 2 feet away from the tower it continued to do it in the multiple rooms I tested it in. The sound quality is sad. For the price it is you'd exspect better of it but it's hallow empty sound followed by a very light but annoying hiss at lower volumes quickly drive you to madness(if you manage to keep it connected to the tower) The headphones are fairly comfortable however but this still doesnt overpower its other faults. Over all... I highly regret this purchase and consider it a loss of hard earned money.
Review of AR AW771 900 MHzWireless Headphones January 12, 2007 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
My wife and I both are hard of hearing and can't always hear our satellite TV programs even at full TV set volume. It has been particularly unpleasant for one of us not to be interested in a particular program that is being watched at high listening volume by the other person, which precludes our reading or doing anything else requiring concentration. These earphones have solved our problem quite handily; the person listening through them can hear better than without the headphones and the TV volume control can be muted for the other person. My only installation problem was that the handy front-of-the-TV-set color-coded stereo jacks were for input only and it took some experimentation to find approriate output jacks on the back of our satellite receiver. Construction quality of the headphones and frequency response seem to be excellent. I called the toll-free phone number in the instruction manual to ask if both of us could listen via a second set of the same model headphones without using a second wireless transmitter, but were told that it would require two headphone sets and two transmitters to accomplish this.
They work OK, but they are too big and unstable on your head January 12, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
They work just fine. But they are too big and unstable on your head. After a while they feel uncomfortable and you can't walk around with them on because they fit so loose they will fall off. Acoustic Research definitely got the electronics right, now if they would get a handle on the ergonomics this would be a great product.
