1 out of 5 stars Never Worked, Would not hod charge   May 4, 2008
I bought this for a gift for my husband and it never worked. Tried to contact seller for exchange but never recieved communication back. Recieved orders to Iraq so it seemed to much of a hastle to deal with them. Cheap, just sucked up the loss. Will get a name brand next time.

4 out of 5 stars Hardy product, performs well   February 4, 2008
I've had these headphones for a couple of years now, and I'm really glad that I got them because they are hardy and perform just fine for my needs.

My roommate got another pair of cheaper RCA wireless headphones which he passed down to me. I'll use them as a basis for comparison. The RCA headset was atrocious as the reception was terrible with just a single button for 'automatic' tuning, the earphones were awkward, and the headband broke after a short term of use. My roommate had picked up the RCA headset for about 40 something dollars at Radioshack.

In terms of price, the acoustic research headphones are a step up from that at a mere 10 dollar difference, but the performance difference was night and day. First, this is a sturdy headset, which is not going to break on you after a year of use. I've always been a fan of hardy electronics that aren't going to snap on weird hinges. The whole thing can be a bit heavy on the head sometimes, but when that happens, I just turn up the volume and put the thing around my neck, and have it act like a close range neck-radio. The base has several broadcast channels, but a good feature of the headset is the tuning knob that lets you tweak it to an optimal reception. There *is* some fiddling and setup involved, but I'm more comfortable having those options, than letting an auto-tuner mess up the tuning for me. The range and reception were satisfactory for my needs. Don't expect everything to be crystal all the time, sometimes there's spotty reception or 'popping' based on walls or obstructions. Most of the time the reception is fine, though. You're trading some sound quality for both mobility and the ease of walking around your house hooked up to your computer's music library.

The headphones are heavy, you have to be an engineer to set up the system EACH time you use them. In short, definetly NOT for me. Save your money. One of the few items I purchased from Amazon in which I was not satisfied.

4 out of 5 stars Wireless Stereo Headphones   December 7, 2007
The wireless headphones produce excellent sound. The only drawback is that they fit better on a large head, and there are no adjustments that can be made.
