Amazon.com Product Description The Sennheiser RS 140 Wireless Balanced Headphones use a switchable dynamic compression system for excellent sound accuracy and balance control for optimum right/left volume adjustment. The adjustable high output level can compensate for minor hearing loss, and the auto-tuning mechanism with memory function finds crisp, clear music. The self-learning automatic level control provides optimum signal reception. Power comes from NiMH batteries that are recharged by simply putting the headphones on their transmitter base that can be mounted to a wall. A charge lasts for 23 hours. The RS 140 is backed by a two-year warranty.

hearing impaired September 2, 2008 A great product for the hearing impaired. I have this one and a model 130 and this is the superior product.
NO distance on pickup. Good for inside house. September 1, 2008 Use my headphones for outside in the yard. Mostly XM radio, some CD's and even records. Not good outside next to the house, sixty feet from receiver it goes into beeping mode and blips in and out. VERY disappointed. I am using them now inside house, XM radio, sound good no complaints inside house. IF you are looking for distance in yard, think again.
Wireless freedom and great sound! August 31, 2008 I bought these for my wife because of the neighbor's dog's barking. We were surprised how easy these head phones were to set up and how clear the tv and music sounded everywhere in the house and outside.
Great Head Phones August 29, 2008 I have a hot tub / Spa and I like to watch TV while in the Spa in my backyard. The TV had to be up so loud to hear it over the jet pump I was afraid it was distrubing the neighbors. These proved to be the perfect solution. I plugged them into the RCA jacks on the back of the cable box in the house and set it on the same channel and the TV outside. It works perfectly, the spa is about 20 feet away from the base unit on the other side of an outside wall. I was concerned that the electric motor of the jet pump might cause some electrical interference, but I have not had any problems. I highly recommend the Sennheiser RS 140 with the balance and volume controls built in, worth the extra money, especially if you can find an Amazon vendor that is having a sale.
Nice, but not perfect August 6, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
When my wife gave me these as a replacement for the worn out Sony's I had been using, I was actually a little disappointed. I liked what I was using.
For the record, these are my computer headphones. I'd guess that I wear them at least two hours every day. I've had the 140's for at least a year now.
The sound is nice. Not audiophile quality, and not as nice as the old $100 Sony's these replaced.
The fit is not *quite* right for me. I have a large head and fully extended these are just barely large enough. I frequently wear a thin wool cap in the winter and that little bit of difference makes them uncomfortable.
Range is not important to me, but they do pick up fine throughout my house if I get up and walk around. Oddly though, they are the most temperamental when sitting right in front of the computer. Every so often I will start hearing static and will have to reach back and move the base slightly. I'm not sure what causes this. I'm bad about leaving the headset off the charger, so it could be a battery going low.
Again, these aren't perfect, but at this point I'm not sure if I could go back to a wired headset now that I'm used to these.
