Asus EEE PC 1000 / 1000H 10" Premium Memory Foam Pouch Case - (Black)
I have to travel to Colorado three times a year for school and wanted a backup laptop computer. During my last trip my laptop stopped working and made it very difficult to take notes and keep up with email. This time I have my EEE as a backup. But, I also use it when walking to the local cafe with free internet access. I love my new EEE. I did however upgrade the memory to 2Gigs and also the hard drive to 250 gigabytes.
Negatives - hard to find accessories for laptop - ASUS should have a site where I can get an extra battery etc... I had to purchase all the accessories from Ebay.

Its size and features are ok. But I cannot stand the noise of it. Its fan never stops and it's really annoying.

Better than I expected, and I expected it to be pretty good. Boots XP quickly, very little bloatware. Decent wireless range, great battery life (5 hours+ on wireless). I was worried about the keyboard: the size is really close to full size and it's solid and has a great feel. Very solid overall, not a toy in any sense. I use it primarily for inputting data for engineering analysis. It's no number cruncher, but it works fine for editing input files. It has a better video driver than I expected, too. Does a very credible job running a projector at 1280X1024 for presentations. Just buy it! You'll love it.

for the price you can't beat this! I am very impressed with it's performance, screen resolution, and wireless ability. I'd highly recommend to anyone on a budget!

I received this product on time and in good condition from Beach Camera. The Eee was packaged well and was in a sealed box ensuring that it was new.
The physical quality of the unit was good and it felt well assembled, there were no rattles or loose pieces and all features worked correctly out of the box.
After around two weeks however, the SD card reader broke. I called Asus to have it fixed under warranty and waited on hold for 30 minutes. After I did get in contact with a representative the return process was smooth, until Asus received the package. It has been two weeks and the computer has yet to serviced. Another call to Asus indicates that the computer was received but no work has been performed. I am still waiting to get the Eee back.
In total, I really like the computer, the features are good. There is a lot of power packed into a small package and the battery life is superb. However Asus support is somewhat lacking.
