Good, Cheap Alternative September 3, 2008

It should be noted that this is NOT an actual Canon brand battery. It is FOR Canon. It seems to work just fine, but it's an important distinction for folks that don't want to risk it.
As it says, this battery is 7.2V and 1500mAh. The battery pack that comes with the XSi is 7.4V and 1080mAh. Once again, important to some people. For others, the battery works.
The only real complaint I have for a battery that is 1/5 of the price of the real one is that at some point, the battery casing is a hair too big. This can cause the battery to get stuck in the camera. Something small like a toothpick or paperclip can easily be used to unstick it.
All in all, it's definitely cheaper than the official replacement and seems to work just fine. It's handy to have a spare around.
