Amazon.com essential video A ringing instance of a sequel far outstripping its predecessor, Sergio Leone's For a Few Dollars More takes the lethal antihero from A Fistful of Dollars, gives him both a rival and an adversary worthy of sharing a gun-blazing corrida, and ratchets up the stylization to something approaching grandeur. This time the Man with No Name (Clint Eastwood) is a bounty hunter whose desert Southwest killing ground is suddenly crowded by the presence of an older, black-clad shootist (Lee Van Cleef). Individually and together, they terminate sundry grotesques while closing in on their biggest quarry, a memorably insane bandit called El Indio (Gian Maria Volonte is brilliant). There's just enough plot to imbue Van Cleef with genuine mystery, a dark avenging angel from a lost past whose pull would supply the emotional core of Leone's later masterworks Once upon a Time in the West and Once upon a Time in America. Leone's bravura widescreen compositions are breathtaking, and Ennio Morricone's music score--tinged with lunatic religiosity--is his first great one. --Richard T. Jameson

A brilliant film! November 4, 2008 This is fantastic movie, a real epic tale of bounty hunters and their ruthless prey. The performances are outstanding and the film benefits hugely from a brilliant turn by Lee Van Cleef. Clint's on top form and the film is magnificent.
The Hunt For Indio October 10, 2008 For A Few Dollars More, the second Leone film of the dollars trilogy with Clint Eastwood,Lee Van Cleef and Gian Maria Volonte, who gives a riveting performance as the sadistic gang leader,El Indio,a stoner with an ambition to heist the largest bank in El Paso,as Eastwood and Van Cleef, both bounty hunters plan to hunt down Indio's cutthroat gang and split the winnings,as the plot thickens, bullets are flying everywhere eliminating anyone who stands in the way of collecting a bounty or a bankroll, time is winding down to the final climax, another classic Sergio Leone film.
A Few Bodies More September 1, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
One of Eastwood's and Leone's greatest movies. Realistic, symbollic and subtle, all at the same time. Eastwood as "Blondie" and Lee Van Cleef as Col. Mortimer [the Man in Black] are excellent in their mutual animosity and gruding cooperation. "Indio" is truly evil and fascinating in his unrepentant greed.
Best Western... April 7, 2008 If Clint Eastwood didn't win an Academy award for this movie, he should have. This is a story about three men. All of whom are very, very greedy. Each one of them possesses their own set of rules regarding getting the "goods". This is an older movie that was first released in the 1960s (I was just a mere kid then). I remember it fondly because of its unforgettable musical score. I have that tune on my cell phone now. I remember that either the score or that particular cut won an award the following year. Anyway, if you like westerns, you'll love this one.
Haunting western and musical score! January 14, 2008 Morricone's musical score makes this film a masterpiece in Eastwood's second installment of the man with no name trilogy. One of my favorite westerns of all time. Five stars!
