Product Description Van Ray and Deaq Hayes are cops but they don?t carry badges. They?re more likely to carry a case full of Benjamins. Everything they need to fight high-end criminals they get from the Candy Store ? the armory of toys and bling confiscated from busted crimelords and used to help the cops pass as legit criminals. From creators McG (the Charlie?s Angels movies) and John McNamara (TV?s The Fugitive) comes the undercover overdrive of Fastlane. Tiffani Thiessen plays the hip Candy Store overseer. Peter Facinelli and Bill Bellamy are Van and Deaq who may have different ?tudes about movies tunes and hotties but who agree that what?s good is taking down the bad. Buckle up for their fast 6-disc 22-episode ride.Running Time: 965 min.Format: DVD MOVIE Genre:TELEVISION/SERIES & SEQUELS UPC:883929012176 Manufacturer No:1000037475
Amazon.com Fastlane's "Candy Store," with its way-cool cars, gadgets, and bling, is once again open for business. Peter Facinelli, on live-wire (Tom) Cruise control, and Bill Bellamy star as Van and Deaq, two cops; one white and one black; one from Los Angeles, the other New York. They become partners when Van's partner, Deaq's older brother, is killed. Saved by the Bell graduate Tiffani Thiessen costars as Billie, who recruits them to join an elite undercover unit that makes full use of the Candy Store, "the ultimate backstage pass," a stockpile of the spoils of the unit's busts. "What we seize we keep," she informs them. "What we keep, we use." According to one of the bonus segments, Fastlane's creators wanted to produce a weekly movie. Apparently, that movie was The Fast and the Furious, by way of the Miami Vice TV series. This one-season guilty pleasure has some "serious oversteer," which makes it great fun to take out for a spin. Each flashy episode pulsates to the stylistic sizzle that co-executive producer McG brought to his Charlie's Angels films. There is elliptical editing, split screens, extensive use of slo-mo, envelope-pushing sex, and explosive violence. We'll never know how much gas Fastlane had in its tank; the series was reportedly too expensive (but it is all on the screen) and its viewership too low. So why invest in a canceled series that leaves viewers with a cliffhanger that will never be resolved? Because, it's a non-stop thrill ride that consistently subverts cop show conventions. The pilot episode, with McG behind the wheel, offers a scene that echoes 48 Hrs., in which Deaq cools a hostile country bar by leading patrons in a line dance. As did Miami Vice, the series also makes effective use of guest stars, including Iggy Pop, Tommy Lee, Naomi Campbell, Jay Mohr, and, in pre-stardom appearances, Terrence Howard and Mischa Barton. Another memorable recurring character is Maxim fave Jennifer Sky as bad girl Cassidy Shaw. Best of all is an old pro, Robert Forster, who gives an Emmy-worthy performance as Ray Ray, Van's estranged convict father who is sprung from prison to help Van get the psycho-bad guy who murdered Ray Ray's partner and best friend. Unfortunately, much of the show's killer soundtrack was not cleared for DVD. Even so, Fastlane is a chrome-tastic gas. --Donald Liebenson

An Action Packed Series September 7, 2008 This is a show that only aired for 1 season and should have never been canceled. This series is about to guys that partner up as undercover Police officers. With an endless amount of money, cars, and women. I would only hope that the more people buy this DVD set, that Fox will put this show back on the air.Go buy this DVD set you will not be disappointed!
Full-frame?? Why even bother?!? August 31, 2008 Visually, this show was experimental & unique. The colors, the editing, the music. Everything.
This dvd release is NOT in widescreen format and, they've muted the colors a bit. In other words, this dvd is a let-down. It's just doesn't capture the true look & feel of the show.
What a shame.
Keepin It Funky August 17, 2008 Being that i love Love LOVED this show and watched the re-runs on TV1 everytime they came on....this DVD came right on time for me to clear my DVR to make room for the Olympic games. YAAAAYYY!!! This show is amazing and i wish it had continued. I looked good, was written well, and the action was believable. At least to me. Not to mention all the good eye candy. Let the church say Amen!..... The ONLY thing that could've made this DVD set better is if they could've resolved that last impression from the season finale. I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO BILLIE.
Well, i am happy with the DVD set and outside of not wrapping up the loose end(which garnered it only 4 stars) Aight Den. Hope this helps people make up their minds if they wanna buy or not. I definitely recommend any fan of the show to have this in their arsenal. Be Easy

FASTLANE: Excellent TV Show with TIFFANI THIESSEN August 14, 2008 FASTLANE brings Tiffani Thiessen in her best role yet as Billie Chambers, making this TV show so hot! Peter Facinelli & Bill Bellamy are cool undercover cops in colorful L.A. settings...Clubs, Mansions, and the Candy Shop filled with the best cars. The saddest part was Fox's choice of putting it on Friday slaughter night and leaving the Series Finale as a Cliffhanger. Even MTV loved it airing the first few episodes.
FASTLANE was action packed, fun, and very slick. McG did a great job. Episodes such as "Strap On" with Tiffani Thiessen & Jamie Pressley making out is unforgettable. Talented Guest Stars in every episode included Terrance D. Howard, Tatyana Ali, Tangi Miller, Robert Foster, Bianca Kajlich, George Hamilton, Krista Allen, Eric Mabius, Jenny McCarthy, Mischa Barton, Jay Mohr, Naomi Campbell, Tommy Lee, and another godess, Ali Landry.
IF ONLY THIS SHOW COULD BE RESURRECTED FOR A 2ND SEASON, 5 YEARS LATER...
Best Action Show Ever August 8, 2008 I watched this show religiously on Friday nights. By far one of the best action shows ever. Perfectly casted and perfectly crafted. McG brought his genious to TV. I have all episodes on TIVO, but finally found them on DVD. This show was far ahead of its time. Kudos to the cast and everyone who put this show on the air. The problem was it was on a Friday night and geared towards the 25-34 crowd. If this had been on Sunday night or Wednesday night it never would have been cancelled. I tried a petition to bring it back like the Family Guy, but failed. I would have loved to see where they would have went with the show. Also, give a shout out to Snoop Dogg for writing the theme music. Rock on!
