I have 4 of these shining down from about 15 feet. They put out a fair amount of light, not enough to read by, but good for mood lighting. They are on photo cells and run all night. Unfortunately, when they come on, it is at full brightness, so there's no turning them down and having them stay at half power the next time. With the remote, they were a big hit at our last party.
