First Impressions July 6, 2008
I purchased the Kindle to bring with me on a recent trip to Ireland in leu of bulky hardcover books. Unfortunately, the Kindle died on me on the second day of the trip and I waited until I returned to the States to call for help. My mistake, the help service was excellent and they had me up and running in a few minutes.
I purchased the Kindle for a number of reasons. Lightweight for long trips, ability to enlarge the font, ect. A feature that I really came to appreciate after purchase is the dictionary lookup function.
Need to add direct transfer of word documents to and from a computer.

I absolutely love my Kindle. I bought it about 2 months ago. I travel a lot and now don't have to worry that I will finish one book and then have to track down another one that I like while on the road. I also have no more room for hardback books. My Kindle has made it so easy for me to buy books and download them so I don't have to worry about having a place to store more books. I have shown my Kindle to several people and have two people buy one from looking at mine. I have two more people who are interested and are planning on buying one. The cost of the books is so cheap compared to hardback or paperback books. The Kindle makes it so much easier for me to travel since I only have to travel with one device that takes up very little room in the car or on a plane. The Kindle makes it easy to download books right from it or from the computer. I can't say enough good things about it. I would recommend this device to everyone for reading enjoyment.

I love this little device - it's perfect for travel because it frees up so much of my suitcase sapce that I used to use for books. It's also pretty neat because I won't have overflowing bookcases in the house - all the books can be stored on the device or a memory card - really cool.
I like the fact that I have current periodicals and newspapers at my disposal - the selection is pretty good (but could be expanded). My only complaint - if there is one - is that it could use a library feature, i.e., let me have the option to "borrow/check out" a book for a nominal fee - for someone who's an avid reader - even the cheap books at 7.99 can add up quickly - so that might be something to consider - in the future - adding a library connection feature.
I love this thing - it's cool!

I did not think I would like the Kindle, so used to physically having books and papers with me. That's all changed thanks to Kindle.
This is a great device and MUCH easier on your eyes. One add on that made a bid difference for me was purchasing a leather carrying case..without it, i often found myself hitting the page forward/back key without meaning to... a carrying case changed all that..
I've also found the 'search' feature to be very useful as my newspapers/magazines grow.
All that information real time at the power of your fingertips, and no computer !
Look at the competition, and you will end up with a Kindle ! While there are areas for improvement, this is the best out there.

I love my Kindle. The only things that I would change are once you bookmark your spot I would have it overwrite your previous bookmark in your book. I would also make it where you can arrange your books in the order that you want to read them as your purchase them. I tend to buy older books when I find a new author and they may not necessary be in a series but need to be read in a certain order to make sense and I will not remember that order when I am on vacation.
Thanks for making this GREAT invention it is so much easier to carry my books with me now.
