Product Description
Slide runs under friction in For carpenters and other professional craftsmen. Bold red and black markings contrast sharply against white or natural finish background. Clear, abrasive-resistant coating protects markings. Graduated slide rule extends up to 6", runs under friction in T-slot and stops at each end to prevent slide from falling out. Long wearing, riveted lock joints eliminate end play and retain accuracy. Marked both sidesand both edges. Brass plated end clasps and strike plates prevent wear. Graduated to 1/16ths of an inch, 16" stud centers in red, regular outside markings. For rules with flat inside markings, numbering begins on inside of rule. Zero fallsat inside of hook for distance measuring on rules with hook. Rules with 1 extension are both 6" extension slides, ready for use on the first section.

The x48 is an 8 foot foldable, wood ruler made by Lufkin, a CooperTools Company. It is their premium "Red End" model having numerals on both sided, red markings every 16 inches, solid brass pivets, and a 7 inch brass extension member. Why "Red End"? The ends of each ruler section are painted red. An excellent measuring instrument, it folds & opens smoothly and is easy to read. The x48 is great for taking measurements where a usual 6 foot folding ruler is not quite long enough.
