Amazon.com Product Description If you've ever lived through a winter on the East Coast, you understand that the floor of your garage can accumulate a large amount of water, dirt, salt, sand and so on in a short amount of time. Even if you live in an area where the winters are less savage, all it takes is a loose hose or worn gasket for your car to leak fluids. The solution to keeping your garage floor clean and containing the nasty stuff your car collects on the road is Carpad's Garage Floor Protector. It will contain up to 80 gallons of fluid, and also features a 1-inch rounded flexible edge on all sides to keep sand, salt, dirt, on the pad-and not on the garage floor where it can be tracked into the house. CARPAD is waterproof, non-flammable, and cleans easily with a broom, squeegee or wet/dry shop vac. There are a couple of things to note about this product. First, make sure the pad is big enough that you'll have a six- to 12-inch border around the perimeter of your vehicle (for easy parking and effective crud-containment). Second, there is some assembly required: you have to insert the four sections of radial tire cord hose (included) into pockets at the edges to make the rounded retaining edge. (The manufacturer suggests wetting down the hose a bit first to reduce friction.)--Josh Dettweiler What's in the Box Carpad, four sections of radial tire cord hose

It works fine as long as it lasts June 27, 2007 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
The CarPad works fine when new but it didn't last as long as I had hoped.
The vinyl dries out and cracks after about 2 or 3 years and then it no longer provides much value. It would be nicer if they used a better quality vinyl.
Did the trick! January 20, 2006 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought the carpad because I have a spot by my steps in the garage where the water was settling when snow and slush melted off my car. I live in Minnesota, so there's alot of it! When I got the carpad I installed it right away. The only problem I had was my own fault because I didn't let the hose warm up before installing it and it was still a little curly from being wound up, but it flattened out when we had a warm spell. I didn't put the hose piece on the end by the garage door because the drainage is good there and it's easier to drive over without it. It's also much easier to sweep it off when needed without the hose there. It's slippery if it's wet when you get out of the car, but not nearly as bad as having the whole floor wet I no longer have a big wet, slippery spot in front of my steps! The carpad keeps the water on it and not on the garage floor. I'm very glad I purchased it because it took care of my problem.
Excellent Results from Carpads October 14, 2004 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
I have used three Carpads and am now ordering another for a family member. My experience with Carpads is entirely favorable. I live in Wyoming where winters last 7 to 8 months, and cars often accumulate large quantities of snow and chemical slush that then melts onto the garage floor. The Carpads reliably contain this runoff. Small punctures and cuts can are readily repairable with duct tape. With reasonable car, my Carpads last at least five seasons. I have also used competing products, and they did not perform as well as Carpads.
vinyl sheet and green hard plastic garden hose????? August 31, 2004 18 out of 20 found this review helpful
By far the most disappointing thing I have ever bought from Amazon.com
Vinyl itself is very soft and light and flaps around even when you place it on the ground.
This cheap piece of viny has a folded edge where you are supposed to insert pieces of supplied garden hose to make the border!!!
Do not waste your money on this....please!!
Good product, worth the cost February 11, 2004 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
I was reluctant to spend this much money on a piece of plastic tarp and 4 garden hoses after reading one of the reviews on Amazon. So I went to Home Depot to check out other options. After spending some time there I just couldn't find any water-proof heavy grade materal that I can get in one piece to cover the garage floor. Sure there are some nice floor materials - but the prices start at $2 per foot with a typical width of only 3 feet. And I would have to make sure it is properly installed with some kind of water barrier on the sides - otherwise water would just end up in my basement. It was shaping up to be a weekend long project costing at least $50 with uncertain results.I ended up just ordering a 16x7.5 Carpad from Amazon. The tarp is heavy duty indeed - unless you use studded snow tires it should last for years. The borders are slightly raised; you just feel a little bump as you park your car - but they are secure enough to hold gallons of water from melting snow. I am quite happy with my purchase so far.
