New LED technology from Pelican, recoil LED. Greater penetrating power or beam when compared to regular LED. However, when compared to other Pelican flashlights with xenon bulbs, the recoiled LED still trails behind in penetration. This is crucial in heavy smoke or fog. But overall a bright flashlight with longer battery life.
