Amazon.com Product Description
Combining an interactive touchscreen for easy navigation and a full QWERTY keyboard for fast communication, the groundbreaking LG Voyager offers a powerful mobile communication and entertainment platform. It features dual screens, with the exterior touchscreen offering VibeTouch technology for tactile feedback and a touch protection feature that prevents unwanted key actions. The Voyager gives you access to V CAST Video--Verizon Wireless' multimedia service with news, sports and entertainment video clips, 3D games and more--as well as V CAST Music, which offers access to more than 2.4 million songs that can be purchased and downloaded over-the-air. Other features include a 2-megapixel camera/camcorder, MicroSD memory expansion, Bluetooth connectivity for headsets and stereo music streaming, multi-format digital music player, and optional GPS turn-by-turn navigation services. It operates on Verizon's 850/1900 CDMA frequencies, and offers fast connectivity through Verizon's EV-DO data network.

Featuring an interactive navigation touchscreen on the exterior, the LG Voyager opens to reveal a full QWERY keyboard.

Nicely compact, the LG Voyager measures just 0.71 inches thin and weighs 4.69 ounces.

The interior of the Voyager also includes a second widescreen (non-touch) LCD.
Verizon Service
With support for the EV-DO high-speed data standard, you'll enjoy fast access to the Internet and Verizon's multimedia services (additional charges applicable), with average download speeds ranging from 400 to 700 Kbps and peak rates up to 2 Mbps. (Learn more about where EV-DO coverage is offered.) The V Cast Music service enables you to download songs instantly to your phone, or purchase music through your PC and transfer the files to your phone. If purchased from your phone, you'll receive two copies of the song: a Windows Media Audio Pro Plus format at 64Kbps stereo is sent to your phone, and a Windows Media Audio 9 format at 160Kbps stereo is sent to your account in the V CAST Music online store for downloading to your PC. V Cast Music offers nearly 2 million songs, with more being added all the time.

With the V Cast Video service, you can stream or download video clips to your phone from a variety of news, entertainment, sports, and weather channels, including CNN, ABC News, E!, CBS Sports, The Weather Channel, and VH1.

Verizon's Get It Now wireless download service is also fully compatible with this phone. This pay-per-download service features application downloads, games and productivity tools. You can also personalize your handset with ringtone downloads using the Get It Now service.

With this GPS-enabled phone, you'll be able to access Verizon's VZ Navigator service (additional charges applicable) for voice-prompted turn-by-turn directions, heads-up alerts, local search of nearly 14 million points of interest in the US (such as landmarks, restaurants and ATMs), and detailed color maps. And Verizon's Chaperone service lets you easily locate your loved ones from your Verizon Wireless phone or PC in real time. After defining a zone, such as an area designating a school or summer camp, you'll be sent an alert via text message when the Chaperone handset enters or leaves the zone.

Phone Features
The tall candybar-style LG Voyager flips open to reveal a full QWERTY keyboard, which also includes four-way navigation and send/end keys. It features dual 2.81-inch LCD screens, with both offering a resolution of 240 x 400 pixels and support for 262K colors. The external screen provides touch-sensitive controls--simply tap icons to access functions or move your finger across the screen to scroll through menus or around Web pages. It also includes an onscreen virtual QWERTY keyboard for entering URLS and other data into Web pages.

It's expandable via optional MicroSD memory cards with support for up to 8 GB of storage. The digital audio player is compatible with MP3, WMA, and AAC/AAC+ music files, and the phone includes dual speakers for music playback. Songs are auto organized by artist, genre, and album, and the Voyager includes an airplane mode that turns off the cell phone's receiver for continued playback while on a flight.

It also includes profiles for communication headset, handsfree car kits, dial-up networking, audio/video remote control, phone book access, serial port/object push for vCard, and basic imaging for sending/printing non-protected images to a compatible device.

The 2.0-megapixel camera can capture still images in four resolutions (1600 x 1200, 1280 x 960, 640 x 480, and 320 x 240 pixels) and video in two settings (VGA 320 x 240 and QCIF 176 x 144). Other camera features include a 2.5x zoom, spot metering, white balance settings, a variety of color effects, night mode, self timer, and three shutter sounds (with silent option). Video recording is limited to either 30 seconds for sending via MMS or up to an hour for saving to memory card.

The Voyager provides storage for up to 1000 contact entries, with up to 5 numbers, two email addresses per entry, and Picture ID. Support is built in for text messaging and mobile IM. When used in combination with the phone's built-in still and video camera, MMS opens up a whole new world of messaging fun. 5 out of 5 stars DISREGARD ALL NEGATIVE COMMENTS   May 13, 2008
Ive had the LG Voyager for 4 months now and i love this phone. Texting is my only obcession and this phone is perfect for it. Touch screen is very easy i dont understand why people complain of it. Anyway why would you text on the screen if you have a full keyboard. People complain of dialing phone numbers without looking as being impossible. ITS CALLED VOICE DIAL. This phone has given me no problems at all i absolutely love it.

2 out of 5 stars VERIZON $$$$/Difficult. SPRINT Moto Q $$ and EZ to use.   May 13, 2008

bought verizon lg voyager and verizon service thu amazon. amazon service very good. Buy a Sprint motorola moto Q.

lg voyager inside internet screen hard to use. outside touch screen impossible to see/use in sunlightglare. lg voyager not user friendly.
Buy a Sprint Moto Q

unfortunately i waited more than 30 days b4 cancelling service and owed $165 early termination fee. Plus the $249 initial cost of the phone. Buy a Sprint Moto Q.

VERIZON$$$$$ will nickel and dime you to death for every service. Buy a sprint Moto Q with the 99.99 Simply Everything plan. I did.

I bought a Sprint Motorola Moto Q at a Sprint Store. Very easy phone to use, almost intuitive. You can almost throw away the instruction manual. AND you get everything for 99.99: sprint tv, gps, unlimited text, unlimited voice, unlimited internet.

Sprint Moto Q very easy to use. Verizon will nickel and dime you to death.

4 out of 5 stars Excellent phone, lots of techno fun!   May 10, 2008

The Voyager is a great phone to start with, that was my first priotity. It has great signal strength and the sound is crisp and clear. The people I talk with have no trouble hearing me.
The e-mail and web browser where important and the functionality of both is fine. Nothing exceptional, but robust enough for how I use them.
The calendar is as good as any other phone. The music software is less than great but, works well once used to it.
It is a rather large phone. I added the Body-Glove immediately so I could use a belt clip. Plus I have used the screen protector from day 1.
The touch-pad works great, the additional steps for receiving a call are easy to get used to quickly. The touch pad is by far the best way to text message that I have ever experienced. It is intuitive and easy. If you are a texter you will love the touch pad.
The camera works well for a phone. Nothing exceptional.
After six weeks I am very happy with the purchase and didn't need to switch to another service to have the techno-touch-pad.
It is a cool phone that works very well overall. I would recommend it to anyone if a phone on the edge was what they are looking for. Feedback and comments are always welcome.

2 out of 5 stars Advanced Features, Lacks Basic Expectations for Phones   May 7, 2008
This phone has many neat features such as mobile tv, vcast, etc, but lacks many basic phone features one comes to expect with phones. Coverage is also spotty (LG Chocolate 2 gets better reception)

Pros:
-Great camera (unless viewing taken pictures on phone)
-internal keyboard is nice
-font is actually readable (not microscopic font like on enV
-VZ Navigator (on most phones)
-shows date and time when on a call (most VZW phones dont do this)
-comes with data cord

Cons:
-Terrible battery just with everyday use (texting 150+messages, 5-6 calls)
-Reception not strong
-Very heavy and bulky, sticks out in your pocket and weighs a ton
-Vibrate feature is WAYY to loud, all of my friends get annoyed with it and tell me to just put it on 'low' because that would be softer. i thought the purpose of vibrate was to 'feel and not hear'...
-Touch screen is not responsive
-Phone randomly locks up, a white line runs up and down the touch screen, can only be fixed by taking out the battery
-Call quality sucks. I used another friends verizon phone (VX8300) after I had just made a call in the same location on my voyager and could not believe how crisp the person sounded, shows how weak the call quality is
-No headphones included (ipod ones won't work, have to be special verizon ones)
-Too expensive for what your really getting.
-Browser isn't "full" html. i hate comparisons but the internet is better on the iPhone
-No flash!?
-Camera settings don't save (for example if you turn external display on for group pictures, you have to go to the menu to turn it on every time)
-Front screen is annoying to use and impossible to call or text without looking
-No notes under contacts
-Only 1 email address, contacts feel 'incomplete'

Overall this phone is too overpriced and lacks wayyy to many basic features (reception, contacts, batter life, dialing calls) for the price. This phone looses the cool factor after a 2 months when the annoyances start settling in. I reccommend a different phone for your sanity

1 out of 5 stars This really DESERVES a ZERO!!!   May 5, 2008
1 out of 2 found this review helpful

Verizon has a HUGE HABIT of RUINING every phone that they release. Instead of letting the BRAND Company like (LG, Samsung, or Motorola) design the phone & user interface/menu design they just always have to add their input, TAKE CHARGE, FORCE THE COMPANY 2 use their MENU STYLE, & ruin everything. This LG is all IMAGE and no substance. It's only good for texting & nothing else and the texting ain't all that. On top of that Verizon has the most expensive data plans ever and not to mention it's not even for unlimited USAGE. The Instant message AOL software is the WORST. It doesn't even load or refresh your buddy list in real time. I signed on AOL from my computer and saw i had 15 friends on when i signed on from the LG Voyager it only listed 2 friends and said everyone else was offline. I signed off the computer thinking maybe because i am signed on in 2 places might be effecting it but that wasn't the case. I even used the REFRESH buddy list feature on the LG and still only had 2 friends on while in actuality 15 were on. Then i decided to test it 1 last time thinking something was wrong so i used my friend's sidekick and signed on AOL IM and the sidekick LX loaded all my buddies in REAL TIME. This is just a MESS and Verizon is still FORCING their clients to use the FOLDER tab MENU STYLE. Why don't they get that NOBODY likes it. Just leave the LG user interface intact!!!! Thanks VERIZON you MESSED UP AGAIN!!!!!
