Amazon.com Product Description Samsung's answer to the Motorola Q is here, and it's got all the features folks need to stay productive on the go. With Windows Mobile 5.0 Smartphone Edition software, a thin profile, and a big color screen, this device is the perfect choice for professionals who want to stay on top of their game. The SGH-i320N lets you do things you'd typically need a PC to do, like email, text messaging, instant messaging and web browsing-- all from one integrated phone. What's more, the phone's software is designed to sync seamlessly with email, contacts and calendar information on your PC. The i320N also offers great mobile music and video options, thanks to Windows Media Player. Samsung's super slim, super powerful Windows Mobile smartphone. | Design The i320N goes with a tried and true design that makes it easy to communicate at a moment's notice. The large, 320 x 240 screen supports 65,000 colors, while a QWERTY keyboard just below the screen makes typing out emails, SMS messages, notes, presentations, and more a breeze. A five-way selection button allows you to navigate and control the Windows Mobile interface, while soft keys on either side of the selection button make it easy to quickly access important phone and productivity functions -- all of which make the i320N a snap to use one-handed. A microSD/TransFlash memory card for expanding the i320N's 120 MB of built in memory is located under the battery. Connectivity is provided by USB, infrared, and Bluetooth. You'll also find stereo speakers, a speakerphone, and a 1.3-megapixel camera with video capture capability, which is housed on the rear of the device. Calling Features The i320N has all the latest calling features folks have come to expect from a high-end handset. The built-in speakerphone makes it easy to talk without having the phone to your ear. Speaker independent voice activated dialing makes calling your friends, family and associates as easy as saying their names, while the phone's Bluetooth connectivity means that your favorite Bluetooth headset is fully compatible. A ringer and picture ID system makes it easy to identify your most common callers. Messaging, Internet, and Tools The i320N is designed as a complete solution for people who want to bring their office with them. The unit comes packed with mobile versions of Outlook, Internet Explorer and MSN Messenger. Outlook Mobile features integrated calendar and email functions, as well as a contacts list that is cleverly integrated with the phone's dialing functions. Robust SMS and MMS functionality is built into the Windows Mobile interface, too. Microsoft's ActiveSync software keeps the device synced with all of your PC's Outlook information (via Bluetooth, USB, or IR connection). Users who want high-speed EDGE data connectivity on the road with their laptop or PDA can select a carrier data service and tap the SDA's wireless modem capabilities. A number of handy software tools are bundled with the i320N, including a voice memo recorder, a calculator, a to-do list, and an alarm clock. T9 predictive text entry technology is also included. Imaging and Entertainment In addition to the 1.3-megapixel still camera, the i320N is capable of recording video clips to its built-in memory, or to the memory expansion card. The inclusion of Windows Media Player on the i320N opens up a whole range of possibilities for this phone. Use it as a digital music player, or sync the device with Windows Media Player on your PC to download last night's TV shows so you can watch them whenever you want. Or watch streaming content from the Web. For gamers, the phone supports Java-based and Windows Mobile game downloads. Vital Statistics The Samsung SGH-i320N weighs 3.35 ounces and measures 4.37 x 2.32 x 0.45 inches. Its lithium-ion battery is rated at up to 3.3 hours of digital talk time, and up to 140 hours of digital standby time. It runs on the GSM/GPRS/EDGE 900/1800/1900 frequencies. The phone comes with a one year limited warranty.

MISLEADING DESCRIPTION August 27, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Although the description on the web says TRI-BAND Amazon shipped to me DUAL BAND phones AND THEY REFUSE TO EXCHANGE THEM.
DONT BUY IT UNLESS YOU LIVE IN EUROPE. I GOT STUCK WITH 11 PHONES that DO NOT WORK IN THE US. They event shipped it with the european plug.THIS PHONES ARE FOR EUROPE ONLY even though the webpages says they are triband.
Was not compatible with my wireless plan. March 11, 2007 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
This is a very interesting phone, very usefull tools, etc... However, my wireless plan (T-mobile) has features that were not compatible with this phone.
Great phone!!! February 28, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I live in Mexico and couldn't wait for Samsung to release the BlackJack in my country so; I got this one. Mexican GSM network is 1900 Mhz so it worked as soon as I inserted my SIM. Reception is very good and it was kind of easy to setup (pull e-mail, multimedia messages, Internet access, etc.) with a little help from my mobile company's tech support center. If you are a Mac guy (like me) you would need to buy extra software to sync it with iCal, Contacts or Entourage (not sure if that's the real name of the Office for Mac PIM) but it really worth it. You can even sync your iTunes lists, podcasts and iPhoto albumbs. It comes with a viewer for .xls, .doc or .pdf files which works fine but you can not edit files on the go (if you actually need to). Even thought it allows you to view attached files you received by mail or downloaded from the Internet. Keyboard is really small but you can get used to it within hours. It is my first phone with a full keyboard, so I took me longer to get used to push a different key for any letter and to the QWERTY arrangement but now I think I write messages quite faster. It comes with two batteries and a charger where you can leave one battery while you use the other. Battery life is short but it's enough for a typical day even when you perform Bluetooth sync, talk for about 45 minutes and listen music for 2 or 3 hours on the same day. I have been using it heavily for 15 days and never got a low battery alert message yet. What else can I say, I like it, it's a good phone, it's slim and it's very good looking.
Much Better than My old Treo650 January 12, 2007 Its very light and thin , very easy to use . I drop off my treo because I had trouble syncronizing my Outlook 3.000 contact often . Now , with this widows based PDA , everything is much easier . The only problem is the lack of accessories for this phone . Congratulations for Samasung .
A darn good phone! December 15, 2006 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am one of the few lucky people in the US who has a Samsung SGH-i320 phone. I actually received it at an industry conference I attended, and I immediately popped the SIM out of my T-Mobile MDA and into the SGH-i320. It's a sweet little phone!
The display is excellent - bright, clear, and crisp with brilliant colors. The user interface, which has been less than desirable on older Windows Mobile Smartphone devices, is well done. The speaker on this phone is quite loud and it makes a decent speakerphone. The keyboard is easy to use and makes it simple to use the SGH-i320 as a device for mail.
On the negative side, this doesn't yet support "push email", although you can easily set it up for POP, IMAP and Exchange accounts on a "pull" basis. I set mine up to go out and check for mail every 15 minutes. The SGH-i320 comes with two battery packs and that's good because it really chews up the batteries. One other negative is that the buttons near the 5-way pad occasionally act up and you can find yourself inadvertently performing functions you didn't want to!
All in all, I would probably get a T-Mobile Dash before I'd buy one of these. Since I got mine for free, however, I'm going to use it for quite a while!
