Product Description CLIF SHOT BLOKSi - The Latest Energy Food Option for Endurance Athletes. Variety is the spice of life i we couldnit agree more. We understand (icause weive been there) that after numerous hours of training and racing, the body needs to mix it up a little in terms of what goes in the tank. Thatis why we set out to create another energy food option that would complement our bars and gels. The result is CLIF SHOT BLOKSi. Theyire simple-to-handle, easy-to- chew, and provide similar nutrition to SHOTi gel, so theyill fit seamlessly into your training and racing nutrition program. Nutrition i Carbohydrates and Electrolytes. SHOT BLOKSi offer very similar nutrition to SHOT Energy Gel. The primary ingredient for both is brown rice syrup which provides easily assimilated carbohydrates for working muscles. Both products also provide the mineral salts known as electrolytes. These electrolytes allow electrical impulses to travel properly throughout your body, permitting normal bodily function. When you sweat, you start to deplete your electrolyte stores and experience potential performance decline, so itis best to help replenish them through food and fluid intake.

Work Great, taste not so much October 23, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I used these blocks training for the Chicago Marathon. The first few times, I enjoyed the taste, but was a little put off by how big and chewy they were.
The package says that each package is two servings of blocks. However, there is not a very good way to store the second half of the bag while on your run. The remaining blocks got even stickier than they started out.
Also, they were somewhat hard to eat while running. They were just too big and too chewy.
I have switched to the Jelly Belly Sport Beans, which I find better tasting and somewhat easier to eat due to their smaller size.

I like the orange hot shots; I use them when I run everyday. They give me just the right shot of energy that I need when I'm running long.
Great on-the-bike food. July 31, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I can't eat powerbars while I'm on long bike rides...a little too heavy. These bloks digest really easily. Nice alternative to engergy gels. Black cherry flavor is killer.
A must for long bike rides July 27, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've gotten hooked on Shot Bloks as an energy source for longer bike rides.
They are easy to carry, eat, and provide a foolproof way of monitoring calorie consumption. Yes, they're sweet, but they don't give me that sick to my stomach feeling that many of the gels are known for. The texture is a huge improvement over gels as well. Whether you chew it quickly or just hold it in your mouth, eating it is easy.
I've tried several of the flavors and settled on Strawberry, with Lemon-Lime a close second.
