Great at First but cheap material! July 30, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I was fed up with chasing my energetic two year old all over baseball games and all over the place. So I started looking at the all dreaded child leashes. I figured I would get a lot of slack but I really didn't care. When I read the reviews for this harness I figured I was sold. I received this product in the mail shortly after and my two year old actually wanted to wear it around! Which is a small miracle in itself. A couple of days later we went on a family vacation, and I packed his harness buddy in my suitcase. When we got there and were planning on visiting the local zoo, I pulled it out of my suitcase and to my amazment, the side strap was completely torn apart. Now this was packed among clothes and nothing sharp that could have caused this. The side was completely shredded in the strap. So I couldn't use it. I was pissed. I only had it a few days. So a couple days later I had sewed it back together the best I could, and so far it seems to be holding, but I expected a lot better out of an eddie bauer product!
My Child Loves This!!! July 29, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have a 2 year who loves to go for walks but is sick of the stroller and fights with me about holding my hand. The whole walk is spent with me struggling to hold his hand or chasing him. Not any more, I love the Harness Buddy, we call it his "Monkey Backpack" and my son loves it. It's great because we can go for walks and it's much easier for me. Plus my mom has a hard time chasing him, he is much too fast for her and this makes it easy for her to be in control for safety purposes. So if you have a little one that likes to run off this is perfect for you.
Great little harness July 27, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a great little harness. My daughter loves it and wears it just as a back pack so that she can have her monkey with her. She calls it, "Curious George," which is her favorite cartoon. The only reason I gave it a four star is that the pocket is extremely small. You can not really put much in it at all and the pocket is open with a Velcro tab closure, anything inside the pocket can easily fall out. Other than this, it is a great product and a harness that our three year old does not mind wearing.
To K. Sawyer... and others like her July 10, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
What is the difference between this product and a stroller? Both fasten your child into devices that keep them safe and close to you. However, this one is much better. This allows kids to get out, walk around and get some exercise. With the high obesity rates of children, and kids who are kidnapped because their parents leave them strapped in a stroller and walk away, I believe it's the parents who refuse to use a product like this who are lazy. My daughter hates the stroller because I play and interact with her all the time, she hates the constriction. She loves her monkey pack because she knows she will be able to explore as much as she wants on her own as long as she's close to mommy.
Just in case it hasn't been said already July 7, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a great idea in any form for your young child who does not respond well to command but needs freedom to roam and be out of their stroller! When I was little my mother used a harness with me as well, it looked like lederhosen! I wanted to do the same, especially when my daughter starting walking at 9 months and trying to run away from me at 12 months! However, I wanted it to be fun and that is where these stuffies/backpack/harnesses are great! I feel like she can have something fun while making me feel that she is safe. This product proved invaluable on the first vacation we took with our daughter this summer, lots of activities and lots of people equals lots of possible danger but we felt more secure with her in her harness and us in control of her movements without the tantrums for being stuck in her stroller all day! I would have to say that this $10 purchase was one of the best and cheapest we have made in regard to our daughter, especially for the positives we have had with it.
