Product Description
This Much Is True: You Have Been Lied To.

  • The government is expanding.
  • Taxes are increasing.
  • More senseless wars are being planned.
  • Inflation is ballooning.
  • Our basic freedoms are disappearing.

The Founding Fathers didn't want any of this. In fact, they said so quite clearly in the Constitution of the United States of America. Unfortunately, that beautiful, ingenious, and revolutionary document is being ignored more and more in Washington. If we are to enjoy peace, freedom, and prosperity once again, we absolutely must return to the principles upon which America was founded. But finally, there is hope . . .

In THE REVOLUTION,Texas congressman and presidential candidate Ron Paul has exposed the core truths behind everything threatening America, from the real reasons behind the collapse of the dollar and the looming financial crisis, to terrorism and the loss of our precious civil liberties. In this book, Ron Paul provides answers to questions that few even dare to ask.

Despite a media blackout, this septuagenarian physician-turned-congressman sparked a movement that has attracted a legion of young, dedicated, enthusiastic supporters . . . a phenomenon that has amazed veteran political observers and made more than one political rival envious. Candidates across America are already running as "Ron Paul Republicans."

"Dr. Paul cured my apathy," says a popular campaign sign. THE REVOLUTION may cure yours as well.

5 out of 5 stars The Revolution: A Manifesto Dr Ron Paul   August 27, 2008
Ron Paul once again shows why he should be, but won't be president. Too much common sense.

4 out of 5 stars Not what I expected, but very good!   August 27, 2008
I expected this title to be more of a statement of what Republicans that want a return to Constitutional government and fiscal responsibility would need to do to return the country to those values. Certainly, many of those ideas are in this book, but the book is more a picture of Ron Paul's campaign experiences, and responses to the issues.

In those responses, explanations and essays on the issues, it becomes clear what those that have the same value system would need to do. Dr. Paul does call for some action on these topics and explains succinctly why.

I enjoyed reading his views and responses to many of his campaign challengers and situations. I also enjoyed the forays into our history that explain how some of these situations have come about.

5 out of 5 stars Essential reading.   August 26, 2008

For the past several years, I have made it my goal to understand the political system in this country. During that time I have gotten a much better understanding of how our economy really works, the role of the corporate world in influencing US policy, and the methods of influencing public perception. What I have come to accept as the truth about the power structure in the US isn't always pretty. But it is consistent with what I see going on around me.

I NEVER thought I would hear a politician of any kind actually tell the truth about where we are as a country, how we got here, and how we can steer ourselves onto a better course. Ron Paul does just that. For anyone interested in cutting through the spin and illusionary choices in our two party political system...this is a must read.

1 out of 5 stars A dream world that could neverthless hurt us   August 24, 2008

It would be wonderful to have our country governed by the Austrian School rules. Oh if it was only that simple! Big Government and high taxes would wither away. The dollar would stop inflating. It would be as good as gold. And miraculously employment would stay consistently high. This would be ideal indeed. But what about the realities we face in this world. We have big enemies and thus we need a powerful government to protect us. A flawed gold standard was a major cause of The Great Depression (creeping inflation hurts the poor less). A serious attempt to fully implement the ideas in this book would be a disaster. Fortunately, however, the real world of practical politics and sensible policies soundly rejected the author's dream world in the primaries. That, however, does not mean that the Ron Paul faithful believers are harmless. The Ron Paulians could put Obama in the White House by taking Nevada, for example, away from McCain. Talk about Big Government and High Taxes, Obama and his crew could set new records. Voting for a dream world that never was and never will be could have nasty unintended consequences in the real world.
