Product Description
In Before You Do, best selling author T.D. Jakes turns his attention and teachings to the topicof relationships and the issues that need resolving once you've learned to use the spiritual and psychological tools for reevaluating your place in life and for repositioning yourself for a life withoutlimits.

Relationship decisions come down to five crucial components, according to Bishop Jakes: Research: gathering information and collecting data Roadwork: removing obstacles and clearing the path Rewards: listing choices and imaging their consequences Revelation: narrowing your options and making your selectionRearview: looking back and adjusting as necessary to stay on course

Before You Do gets you on the right track to making decisions that you'll be proud of and reap the benefits of for the rest of your life, as will the generations that follow you. He gives you insight on how to reflect, discern, and decide the next step to take to have a strong and enduring love, marriage, and family.

The Bishop takes a spiritual and practical approach to inherently emotional issues such as the outside influences on our relationships, e.g., in-laws, friends, and former spouses; coping with anger; parenting; financial concerns; negotiating high-profile lives; and so many more of the issues people face every day. His special brand of counseling and teaching appeals to the faith-based community and beyond, reaching millions who receive his wisdom in all media, especially books.

3 out of 5 stars Before You Do   November 14, 2008
Before you do, is a good title for my review. I saw this book promoted on the television and was eager to read it. My eagerness began to recede as I did read it though.

The ideas presented on good decision making are very sound from a human perspective. But, from a spiritual perspective, they are lacking.

Good decisions should come from seeking God's will and applying His written Word to life. This is the basis for a believer. That is not what the book builds upon.

The book builds upon human philosphy. There is very little to no Scripture in the work either. To my suprise, there is also eastern religion, philosphy, and stories included.

I am a T.D. Jakes fan and will continue to be. But, this book was disappointing from a spiritual perspective. So, pay attention and know what you are buying - "BEFORE YOU DO".

5 out of 5 stars One of his Best!!   November 11, 2008
Very enlightening as a book of sermons. Spoke on areas of interest that need to be addressed in some of life's most challenging decisions. Would have purchased sooner if only I had realized how powerful it really is...

Get yours today. You won't be disappointed!!

4 out of 5 stars He's Back!   November 9, 2008
Bishop is back. This book returns to the engaging, yet informative style of Bishop Jakes' early books ie. Woman thou art Loosed, 10 Commandments.... If you did not like Reposition Yourself because of all the flowery modifiers and theatrical symbolism, then you'll be happy to read this book. Although the book centers around the decision to choose a mate and draws from his daughters wedding, it provides insight and strategies to making any type of decision i.e. financial, career, family. Bishop encourages people to research before they make a decision. This is an entertaining read and you walk away with better decision making skills.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent Book   November 2, 2008
This is an excellent book to read. It will enlighten and help you make better decisions about everyday life. I was immediately drawn into the content of the book from the introduction. It is a definite must read. It is a great book to discuss with your significant other or with members of your book club.
