Product Description
In Linda Howard?s gifted hands, second chances, unexpected romance, and unrelenting action combine into a riveting new novel of suspense. In Death Angel, bad girls can wake up and trust their hearts, bad guys can fight for what?s right... and dying just might be the only way to change one?s life.

A striking beauty with a taste for diamonds and dangerous men, Drea Rousseau is more than content to be arm candy for Rafael Salinas, a notorious crime lord who deals with betrayal through quick and treacherous means: a bullet to the back of the head, a blade across the neck, an incendiary device beneath a car. Eager to break with Rafael, Drea makes a fateful decision and a desperate move, stealing a mountain of cash from the malicious killer. After all, an escape needs to be financed.

Though Drea runs, Salinas knows she can?t hide?and he dispatches a cold-blooded assassin in hot pursuit, resulting in a tragic turn of events. Or does it?

Left for dead, Drea miraculously returns to the realm of the living a changed woman. She?s no longer shallow and selfish, no longer steals or cheats or sells herself short. Both humbled and thrilled with this unexpected second chance, Drea embraces her new life. But in order to feel safe and sound?and stop nervously looking over her shoulder?she will need to take down those who marked her for death.

Joining forces with the FBI, supplying vital inside information that only she can provide, Drea finds herself working with the most dangerous man she?s ever known. Yet the closer they get to danger, the more intense their feelings for each other become, and the more Drea realizes that the cost of her new life may be her life itself?as well as her heart.

3 out of 5 stars Interesting Read   December 29, 2008
I enjoyed reading this book as the storyline was a bit different from the author's other books. But I wouldn't recommend picking up the book on the basis of the product description/summary, as it is not completely in line with the actual story. As in her other books there's romance and action, but you're a bit thrown off by the fact that you end up actually rooting for the "bad" main characters of the book. Overall, a feel good book.

5 out of 5 stars Another great read by Linda Howard   December 28, 2008

Linda Howard shows us her versatility once again with her newest Death Angel novel. Howard's typical trademarks are apparent early with the love/hate relationship with the main characters and it takes a while to fully come to understand which angle they're coming from, but once you read past the first chapter every piece falls nicely into place. But while Death Angel is a romance it really lacks the intimacy of earlier works and focuses mainly on hot and steamy love scenes. Drea is a misstress who uses feminine guile to get all the material possesions she lacked growing up a poor child of a broken home. Advancing to the top of a Salinas' familia she meets an assassin who changes her life. This is very typical Linda Howard writing and one you should not wait to read. Another book I would highly recommend is SIRENS by TIN GEO: Sirens: A Novel a great novel that came paired with Death Angel: A Novel.

3 out of 5 stars Far Fetched   December 23, 2008
There is no doubt that this a work of fiction because the plot is so far fetched. It wasn't an awful book but it wasn't a very good one either. Drea was the girlfriend of a mobster who felt wronged by him so stole two million dollars and left. Then she has an afterlife experience and comes back as a somewhat better person and decides to bring the mobster down. She also falls in love with a hired assasin in the midst of all her soul searching. Had some good moments but also some boring parts.

5 out of 5 stars LH is Back On Her Game!!   December 21, 2008
After the last LH book, I had given up--but am glad I gave it another go. This was a page-turner, if ever I read one!

As with another reviewer, the first few pages were disappointingly misleading, but then it took off!

And, as often in LH's novels, the men are almost over the top in being unforgiveable, but somehow this guy ended up okay . . . at least for Andie.

I'm sorry it's over . . .
