Harrington s sophisticated and time-tested winning strategies, focusing on what it takes to survive the early and middle stages of a No-Limit Hold Em tournament, are appearing here for the first time in print. These are techniques that top players use again and again to get to make it to final tables around the globe. Now, learn from one of the world s most successful No-Limit Hold Em players how to vary your style, optimize your betting patterns, analyze hands, respond to a re-raise, play to win the most money possible, react when a bad card hits and much, much more. Dan Harrington won the gold bracelet and the World Champion title at the $10,000 buy-in No-Limit Hold Em Championship at the 1995 World Series of Poker. And he was the only player to make it to the final table in 2003 (field of 839) and 2004 (field of 2576) considered by cognoscenti to be the greatest accomplishment in WSOP history. In Harrington on Hold Em, Harrington and 2-time World Backgammon Champion Bill Robertie have written the definitive book on No-Limit Hold Em for players who want to win ... and win big.

First class service January 6, 2009 Happy new year,
All was perfect. The book outside and inside, the paper and what is writen on, everything is perfect.
First class service.
If you like to play conservative, you need this book! January 6, 2009 Harrington is a conservative poker genius! I will say upfront, if you are an aggressive player, you will not like this book. However, if you are trying to figure out how to win large tournaments or satellite tables, this book is a must-own for you!
I loved how Harrington put in a ton of situational questions that allow you to test your ability to master the skills taught in this book. Take your time and try to get these questions right, it will pay off in the long run.
By the time I was halfway through reading this book, I noticed a huge difference in where I was placing in online and video game tournaments. I have ordered his second book, and am getting ready to read it now. A lot of the first book's sections tell you to read the second book, and I would recommend it for any experienced player.
If you are a newbie to the game, this book will put you in a fantastic position to have a heads up on your friends. If you are experienced, this book will give you way more information than you can ever use, but you can pick and choose what to apply in your game.
You absolutely will be a better player after reading this book!
Enjoy!
Good, but... December 26, 2008 Not as helpful as I had hoped but does have a lot of useful information.
Great tool for improving in playng Poker November 3, 2008 I'm from Italy, and here, too, this book is well known as a very useful tool for improving our skills in Hold 'em Tournaments.
what kind of knowledge do you have with out this series? October 15, 2008 all in all HOH series is one of the best series of poker books out there if not the best. after finishing the 1st book and starting the second i raked in 1 tourney win worth 120 dollers and a 5th place finish in a 2000 person field for 300 dollers back to back. i continue to win and im very happy that i chose these books first over anything else. i now own holdem for advanced players an a couple others but this series is what you want if your starting out. great overview of strategy and over time you will learn to incorporate your own mix of experience with the books.
