Product Description
"So You Think You Can Be President? is required reading not just for those of us who have had the audacity to ask ourselves that question, but for everyone."?Senator John Kerry

What exactly does the leader of five legislative branches, ten executive branches, twenty departments, ninety-five independent agencies, and the free world do at his (or her) job every day? More importantly, what should the President of the United States (POTUS) know before she or he is elected? Have you ever thought, "I could do a better job than that bum in the White House"? Iris Burnett and Clay Greager have devised a hilarious test to see if you (yes, you) are qualified to be the next President of the United States.

Tackling everything from your incredibly personal details (can you account for every penny you have ever made?) to your stance on hard-hitting issues like immigration, defense, and how many of your rich friends are going to get jobs they are totally unqualified for, So You Think You Can Be President? is a witty and uproarious send-up of our political process.

Customer Reviews:

1 out of 5 stars Great idea, pathetic execution   July 29, 2008

The idea for the book had great potential. Unfortunately it is executed in a juvenile manner with thin humor.

5 out of 5 stars So You Think You Can Be President   May 3, 2008
"So You Think You Can Be President" is a crucial test for all of us, (you), who might get the call when Hillary and Obama flame out, opening up a coveted slot in our Democratic Process. This book by veteran politico Iris Burnett and war veteran Clay Greager, who felt that if he could deal with death on the front lines, writing about Presidential Preparedness would be a piece of cake, is the exam you hope your First Official can pass. In many cases I'm guessing most of those in the hunt for the presidency will probably prefer combat after being confronted with this. Raves from the left by Senator John Kerry, who said, "This book is a must read for all 100 U.S. Senators planning to run for President," and from the right by former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, who commented, "Mark Twain would have loved it," underscore the bipartisan tone of this very funny book. The good news for all of those presidents past and present is that they can't be pressured into answering these questions, which is probably a good thing . . .

5 out of 5 stars Very Very Clever!   May 1, 2008

Not only is this book incredibly witty, it's actually full of very interesting information. Passing the test should be mandatory for all big mouths who like to tell their friends they'd make a better president than the current crop of candidates. I wonder if the political pundits crowding the airwaves could pass the test. I shudder to think how George W. would do.
