Mimi Riser's short story, The Great Race, is the story of a girl who gives her best against desperate odds in a race against others. But the young heroine competes against her own doubts to prove to herself that she is a winner in her own heart. The outcome is surprising. This is an excellent tale that left me smiling. I would highly recommend The Great Race to anyone who wants to read an inspiring tale.
