I was inspired to write MASKED BALL after a brief (innocent, of course!) encounter of my own at a plush hotel in Coral Gables, Florida, near where I live in Miami. In my stories, I always manage to incorporate the warm, sultry weather I live in. The weather permeates every facet of life, driving us south Floridians a bit crazy! As depicted in my story, sometimes ?crazy? can be good, especially when the clash between two strangers in the hotel's dark poolside grotto, and a promise from our heroine, (despite her deepest reservations), ends in a most surprising way!

Unfortunately I must have been reading a different book than the other reviewers. It started out well enough, but degenerated into eye-rolling ridiculousness.
The main character started as a successful businesswoman, but ended up acting like a moody, horny, indecisive teenager by the time the book was over.
And the "surprise ending"? Well I certainly didn't see it coming, but that doesn't make it any good. It was laughable and unbelievable.
Two stars because it was good enough to read until the end.

A racy tale of relationships in flux, steeped in mystery and passion. Ms. Cardoso has a way of making you think this is all happening to you, so intimate is her style of writing. Hold on to your seat for the surprise ending!

I loved the story. It left me wanting more. The way the author wrote the story allowed me to picture the characters and scene in my head. The ending was totally a shock to me!! I just love a great story that is not predictable. AND THIS IS IT!!!!!

Oh my! how many times do we go off the deep end because of miscommunication? This story is well told and it caught me right from the beginning. Ivette Cardoso spun a erotic tale about a woman who is hurting emotionally after a recent breakup with her boyfriend. I don't dare say too much in fear of giving it way. The Masked Ball is perfect if you like romance with a touch of the erotic and a little mystery. It ties up very nicely with an unpredictable end that will leave you smiling.
