Product Description
Artemis's mother has contracted a deadly disease--and the only cure lies in the brain fluid of African lemurs. Unfortunately, Artemis himself was responsible for making the lemurs extinct five years ago. Now he must enlist the aid of his fairy friends to travel back in time and save them. Not only that, but he must face his deadliest foe yet...his younger self.

5 out of 5 stars Out of This World   August 29, 2008
This book is incredible.
Beats every other book in the series by far.
Adds a lot to the romance between Artemis and Holly
while maintaining and action theme. Amazing twist
in the middle of the novel that makes you think
Anthony Horowitz is a genius.

5 out of 5 stars I want more!   August 29, 2008
I've been reading Artemis Fowl since it first came out and it just seems like the books get better and better. My favorite used to be the Eternity Code. Then when Lost Colony (book 5) came out, that became my favorite and now this one is pretty darn good too.

Yay for Eion (pronounced Owen) Colfer!

3 out of 5 stars Decent, but not the best in the series   August 29, 2008
I enjoyed book 6 though, not as much as earlier pieces in the series. This is the first of the Colfer books that I have read that had a "hidden" message to it that was beat on over and over, which is conservation and eco-friendly living. Now I understand that this is targeted at youth but also believe at times it takes away from the story, which is unfortunate. I enjoy the series and I hope a future book sees a return to earlier styles and stories. Enjoyable, but not great get it in paperback, definitely not worth the hardcover price.

5 out of 5 stars Best Artemis YET!!!!!   August 29, 2008
As a reading and writing teacher, I like to read what the kiddos are reading. The Artemis Fowl series is one of my favorites, and this book was exciting, funny, and, to quote one of my students, "just plain awesome!".

4 out of 5 stars Series keeps on delivering   August 29, 2008
Colfer delivers again. I wouldn't rate this the strongest book in the series (the first few may have been better than the last 3), but I loved it and it flies by too fast as all his books have for me.

I think it may be a bit better than the last one, and now I'm eagerly awaiting to see if there will be a number 7!

The audio performance for the entire series was by the same guy, and he's top notch. Excellently done.
