Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Are you tired of your necktie falling into your food when you lean over a table? Have you ever gotten toothpaste on your tie when brushing your teeth before running out the door? How about constantly adjusting your necktie to keep it in place on a windy day, or in an attempt to hide that unruly tie tail? Ever look down and discover that your tie has wandered away from the center of your shirt? Fix it with the Tiedown, a simple solution for your necktie fashion foibles. The Tiedown will save you from all the stains and inconvenience of everyday life without leaving holes in an expensive necktie (like tie pins do), or flashing a lot of corny/gaudy metal as some tie bars do. The Tiedown is the classy yet invisible solution to your necktie problems. Made from 100% post consumer recycled plastic or leather, the Tiedown will fit any shirt's buttons and strap down your beautiful tie through the horizontal tie tag on the back, hiding your tie tail, centering your tie and sharpening your look. It's simple and easy to use, just follow the pictures below. The affordable and elegant, eco-friendly solution. So, how does it work? First tie your necktie, then take a look at where the horizontal tie tag on the back of your tie lies against the front of your shirt. 99.9% of the time the tie tag is between two of the buttons on the front of your shirt. You want to fasten the Tiedown between those same two buttons, start by putting the top button through the button hole on the Tiedown, then thread the Tiedown through the horizontal tie-tag on the back of your tie. Finish by fastening the bottom button hole of the Tiedown onto the lower button on the front of your shirt. Now your necktie is securely held flush against the front of your shirt. No more drooping into your soup when you stand to greet a colleague across the table, or flapping over your shoulder on a windy day. No more straying from the centerline. Perfect. Simple. Discreet. And best of all CHEAP!

5 out of 5 stars works   November 2, 2008
I've worn this to a wedding and a christmas party. It's very easy to use and no one noticed.

2 out of 5 stars Extremely awkward when you bow/bend your posture   March 30, 2008
4 out of 5 found this review helpful

OK it works as it is advertised, BUT (A HUGE BUT) when you, for instance, sit on your chair and bow/bend while you are writing something or simply looking at your computer, your tie will appear cracked from the point where you attach this thing. Believe me, its extremely awkward. The reason I gave 2 stars is because it does what it says, only when your posture is almost 90 degrees straight, which is something quite impossible to maintain all day long.

Also considering what you pay for the shipping, it is better you don't buy it.

5 out of 5 stars These work great.   January 26, 2008

These tiedowns work great, are completely invisible when worn, and are just fantastic. One great thing about them is that you can unbutton your top button and loosen your tie a bit, say after work, and the nature of the tiedown lets the tie loosen without binding as it would with a tie tack. The plastic ones are fairly indestructible and last forever.

4 out of 5 stars Expensive but it works   January 14, 2008

I gave these tiedowns to my husband for Christmas and he has been wearing them everyday since. I will admit that they are very expensive for a piece of plastic with slits in it but we really do like the product! I think the company should charge less for shipping....it just comes attached to a piece of paper in a regular envelope.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent product   January 10, 2008

This product is amazing, hold the tie correctly and doesnt damages it. Maybe you prefer a shiny tie holder that adds to your looks, but I prefer this one because is stays in place and doesnt make a hole to the tie... and just look at the price, you can buy 3 or 4 to give to a budy because the shipping is more expensive than the product :p... a must buy.
