Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
The aesthetic elegance of this Seiko chronograph timepiece will highlight a gentleman's suit with its intricate detail.

Amazon.com Product Description
This impressive, features-packed pilot's watch from Seiko is a sophisticated blend of function and style. The solid steel case and bracelet highlight a round black dial with luminous hands and markers, a red sweep seconds hand, and a date display at the three o'clock hour. Three chronograph subdials register up to 60 minutes of elapsed time in 1/10 second increments. The dial is capped with a highly scratch-resistant Hardlex crystal and framed by a matching black bi-directional rotating bezel with a rotary compass and a slide rule for rapid calculations and conversions, including multiplication, division, speed, distance, fuel consumption rate, and fuel conversions. Other notable features of this watch include precise quartz movement and a screw-down locking crown. This Seiko watch is rated water resistant to 100 meters.

About Seiko
In 1877, at the age of 18, Kintaro Hattori set up business repairing the Western-style clocks that were becoming increasingly popular in Japan. By 1892, Hattori was manufacturing his own clocks in a factory he called Seikosha, from the words "seiko" meaning "exquisite," "success," or "miniature," and "sha" meaning "house." The company grew and prospered, producing its first wristwatch in 1913 and launching the Seiko brand in 1924. Technological innovation has always been a driving force in the company's history. Key milestones include Seiko's introduction of the world's first quartz watch in 1969, and its successful launch, in 1988, of the Kinetic, the world's first battery-free watch with quartz accuracy. Recognized for its technological excellence, Seiko has provided timekeeping services for the Olympic Games and the World Cup Soccer Championships. Today, the Seiko brand continues to stand for state-of-the-art technology, as well as superior quality and refined design.

5 out of 5 stars Fabulous watch, no doubt   June 5, 2008

Received it soon after purchasing, great looking and functionality. Not much complain about it except some suggestions: watch band is a little bit large for me and setting bottom is not easy to pull out, but you will have no problem once you get familiar with it. Good one, I just love it!

5 out of 5 stars Seiko SND253   June 4, 2008

I bought this watch for everyday use. So far, it has been a great watch, easy to see the dial and hardly any maintenance. Just wipe entire watch with soft cloth every other day or so. Unlike automatic watches, like a Rolex submariner which requires shaking once a while, it does not need anything. Quartz mechanism is proven and reliable for accuracy. I'll probably sell my Submariner. This watch is a keeper. Also, I don't have to be overcautious to keep eye on the watch from possible loss or drops.

Quick shipping and great price. Stopwatch is easy to use and easy to read - has standard lap & split timing functions to 1/20 of a second. Watch has more other features than I'll ever use. Only problem is the numbers on the outside dial to measure aviation functions (time-speed-distance like a CR or E6-B circular slide rule) are so small, you need a magnifying glass to read them. It took me a week to find the owner's manual & warranty hidden in a "secret" compartment in the box, but the manual doesn't go into any detail about functions other than setting the time and operating the stopwatch.

1 out of 5 stars Terrible Quality   May 24, 2008

This was my second and final Seiko timepiece. My first worked excellently for about 8 months and then the band broke. I had it repaired at a local jeweler and within a week it broke again. I had it repaired two more times with two different jewelers, but with the same results. I then purchased this watch thinking that there must have been a defect in the previous product. Four months after buying it, it broke in the exact same way my previous timepiece. I will never be buying another Seiko product and I strongly encourage investment in another brand!

5 out of 5 stars Great watch, better price!   May 11, 2008
I lucked out and got this watch for $40 less than it is now!! I don't know why, but Amazon had it on sale for about a day at $95 and I snatched it up! Great watch!! It looks like a $500 watch easy. Keeps good time. Nice weight and feel to it. Can't recommend enough.
