When I originally purchased this lamp the photo was of a silver one, and the description didn't mention it being black (yay they have since changed that, a point in their favor). So I was a bit dissapointed when I opened the box. The customer service was helpful but I would still have to pay for return shipping... which cost almost as much as half of what I paid for the lamp, so I ended up just keeping it.
Honestly I thought the matte black was hidious, but a friend of mine saw it and fell in love with it. So I gave it to him. Everyone has their own taste, and he loved that silly thing.
Lamp worked great, but it does take minor assemply, it was packaged very well, no damage in shipping.
