Great Phone! November 15, 2007 We've had several Panasonic cordless phones now and not only do they have great features and work very well, they just don't break. We've never replaced a Panasonic phone due to a problem and we've either handed down or re-sold our old ones. You will not be disappointed with this product.
Something of a disappointment............ July 25, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
After owning one of the early DSS cordless phones made by another manufacturer I expected this 'state of the art' phone to be even better regarding signal carry but whereas the old phone worked for unbelievable distances this one breaks up in my back yard.
Talking Caller ID does NOT announce phone number calling! February 20, 2007 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
There are a lot of positive reviews for this product, which greatly influenced my purchase.
However: After recieving the phone, and installing, i could not believe the REALLY poor design of the Talking Caller ID. It does NOT announce any phone numbers, and has to be programmed by YOU to announce the name of the caller. Think about that. YOU have to program each incoming call so that the Caller ID can announce the callers name!? Who designed this product!?
The first phone call recieved after installation announced, "NJ cell phone."... i was like yeah... and? NO NUMBER! Well, i don't know about you guys, but, isn't the purpose of having a Talking Caller ID, to help you screen calls during peak busy periods of your day? By identifying the phone number, you can then make a choice as to who can wait, and who you might need to speak to presently. The announcement of "NJ cell phone." does nothing in the way of immediate identification, without announcing the phone numbers... is it the cell phone of my goofy college pal, or of my child who might need a ride... See what i mean?
I was so floored by the poor design, that i calld Panasonic TWICE. I thought the first customer service rep i spoke to was misinformed, when they told me that's how all of the new Panasonic Talking Caller ID phones were designed. So, i called again, and spoke to another customer service rep... guess what? The Talking Caller Id's are ALL designed that way! ... Who made THAT decision!?
I returned the KX-TG5576m, and am happily using my older AT&T phone, which announces the number of who is calling.
Build it in the USA January 28, 2007 The product has some unique features, but the instruction manual ia pooly written. It needs to be written by a group skilled in instruction manual writing in English. The Display window for the answerer is up too high. Makes the "O"'s look like "U"'s
Promises are not met January 9, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The ad and description for this phone promises full-duplex operation, but the phone does not deliver fully-duplex operation. It does not allow two way simultaneous transmission of conversation. Thus, important phrases and sentences can be cut off when conversations overlap. The whole reason I bought the phone was for the FD operation. Now I'm stuck with a phone that doesn't deliver on its promises.
