  I love Ansuya! January 4, 2008
What can i say? I love Ansuya. I recommend this dvd to advanced dancers. Remember, practice makes perfect.

I consider myself very generous to give it 2 stars, it doesn't even deserve 1 star. I didn't try her first hot combinations DVD. But I decided to buy that one. And then I decided to return it and tell everything I feel about it, so others would be careful. Overall, I am NOT wealthy to waste $27 into something that doesn't satisfy me.
Briefly, she offers very few moves, the combinations are not enough, No breakdown of the choreography, and useless stuff added
the DVD consist of 4 sections, the first one is the 6 combinations: Saidi Strut ~ Spiral ~ Henna Hands ~ Lock Licious ~ Moon Walk ~ Crescent Circles. the next section is the performance with a drumer.
The third and the fourth sections (which are TOTALLY WORTHLESS) are an exclusive interview with her and the other section consist of errors that she did/said during making this video.
I though the 6 combinations of an expensive DVD would consist of AT LEAST 10 moves each, even if they are not used in the choreography; but to my shock, there were only 2 to 4 moves each combination. I am not denying that some of those moves are nice, especially the saidi strut, but my complaint is that there are only few moves.
I WISH that, instead of having 6 combinations; she would break down her performance into several combinations; in other words, she'd teach the performance at the end. OR, she would AT LEAST added 6 more combinations (of which were used in the performance), that way it would worth my money.
As I said, She included two useless sections, one for her interview, and the other one is about her errors
For her interview: I DON'T CARE TO KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT HER, I actually feel cheated, because I didn't pay my money to get to know her,WHO CARES, but ONLY to learn bellydance all the way to the end. Anyone may search the web to know about her (and I doubt that anyone'd care about it). Also this is an indication of arrogance, WHO THE HELL SHE THINK SHE IS to include an exclusive interview in one of her DVDs.
The next BORING, FAKE, USELESS section is all about the errors she made during making this video; to me, it didn't even make me smile :(
for the positive things, there was Plenty of repetition of the moves, that she made them very easy for a beginner. Her performance is okay, especially on the hot pop Egyptian song, I really love the song used for the performance.
As I said, her performance was okay on the song, but still I am not a fan of ansuya, I know she got her own style but I always find her moves a bit stiffy, fast, jerky, complicated, and sexless. As a bellydance lover, I say that bellydance has to be relaxed, full of feminine and sensuality, suitable for women only; but ansuya dancing is good for both men and women.
In conclusion, think twice before buying that DVD; DON"T let other reviews fool you exactly as they fooled me. And remember that there are a LOT of better options with less than half the price.

I couldn't buy this dvd from Amazon because it wasn't available for international shipping. So I bought it from Ansuya website. This dvd is fantastic! Ansuya is a skilled instructor, she explains every move in a very clear way. Anyway I would expect still more combinations!

I really liked Ansuya's other DVD's with IAMED, but this one is better! You see more of her style in the combinations. Her instructional style is easy to pick up and she breaks down the combinations in an easy to learn format. I love this DVD! It is amoungst my favorites along with Aziza's Practice Companion, Saidie's Drum Solo, Lavish Layers and her other Combination DVD through IAMED.
