Does what is claims and does it well. It is heavy, though, for small boats; but that's what comes of needing 55lbs of thrust, I suppose.

Used it on a 14 foot porta-bote with me and 3 kids (8, 13, 17). Motored for over an hour on the first run (at pretty much full throttle), pushing the 4 of us around the lake. Beats the heck out of rowing. My battery is about a year and a half old and hasn't been maintained that well (just disconnected from my travel trailer until next use). Bought a minn kota battery charger to maintain the battery in the future. Would like to see how long we can go on a new, well-maintained battery.
The motor seems to be good quality and solid.
