Awesome Bag! October 3, 2008 After seeing the Selk 'bag in an outdoors magazine I knew I needed one.
I sleep on my side with my lower arm under my pillow and my legs slightly bent so camping in a standard mummy bag just isn't comfortable. This bag is all about comfort.
I've used it about 10 different times, including bon-fires on the beach, sleeping topside on our sailboat, and a recent three-day backpacking trip to Yosemite, CA. I love bag.
Downsides: - The bag doesn't pack as small as my wife's mummy bag but that's to be expected since the Selk 'bag does have more material and stuffing. - I also had an issue with the draw string on the hood. It seems that the string was sewed incorrectly so one side will not tighten - made in China. - A bit expensive for a sleeping bag.
Upside: - Comfortable bag - way, way super comfortable. - Every one that sees the bag is intrigued about it. - I can go wee without having to climb out of the bag. - Just plain cool - cooler than cool beans!
Lippi Selk 'bag is genius! June 4, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Selk 'Bag Unbelieveably cool! I bought one of these for myself and one for my wife last month and we can't stop using them! We use the bag mostly for camping in Wisconsin and love being able to walk around the campsite at night and in the morning without being cold and all of the other functionality we get (I play the guitar...ever try playing the guitar in a mummy bag?). The new model, I think they call it the 2nd generation, has an extended zipper down the right side so I can go to the bathroom without taking the bag off...BONUS!!! My wife even uses her bag around the house when its chilly outside so I can keep the thermostat to a low temperature setting...who'd have thought, the selk 'bag will lower your energy bill! Our oldest son uses mine now and then when he plays video games all night with his friends, who are now buying their own. Not that this product is 100% perfect, it's darn close though. We are especially eager for the new cold-weather Selk 'bag to come out. We contacted the company and they said it will be ready this fall...don't know if I can wait that long. Love it, thank you for making this wonderful product!!!
