Terrific! September 18, 2008 After 3 weeks or so set up in the woods, it's perfect for my purposes: sitting quietly & reading without going nuts from bugs. People should know it does not have a floor, easily remedied with a tarp, or, in my case, 2 bedsheets to prevent bugs coming up from the ground. I put it up alone, but the setup directions, adequate, skip important points you've got to figure out for yourself: detach-from-straight each leg in order to fit in that bottom pin in, then tighten by straightening out the leg again, they don't tell you that. Or, the plastic rings & grooves to make things taut at the top bend of each pole. Haven't tried yet to take it down, including getting it clean. The 4 side screens are big & beautifully invisible. Ah! I'm happy.
Not Good For Beach/Bad Weather Camping August 16, 2008 This is a nice screen room for an overnight camping experience, but it just wasn't cut out for the week-long camping trip we took to the beach.
We had a steady breeze and this puppy just wasn't cut out for even light wind. The poor thing started to "pop" and then the anchor tabs ripped off of 2 corners on the first night.
And gusts? Forget about it. Once it was up it was fine, until the wind came up on the 3rd night. The poles broke and it came down on our heads. We ended up tossing the frame before we left for home (one broken chain-cord , 2 bent poles and one broken pole). BTW, It wasn't easy to put up, the hub system was problematic and it took 3 people to get it set up (and to take down; with a lot of pushing, pulling, leveraging and a few swear words). So don't count on it being a "quick up/down" type of product.
If you just need a nice shelter in really moderate weather or sheltered camping areas, I'd say it's worth it. But if you think you're going to have wind (gusty or even just breezy), save your money.
Good Screen Room July 25, 2008 This screen room is easy to setup and it fits over an average picknick table with some room to spare. I have a family of five and we were comfortable eating and moving about inside of it. It's easy to assemble but I think 2 people should set it up. My only complaint is that the poles could be of better quality. If you are not careful setting it up, it is very easy to bend them at the corners. But once it is set up it seems very sturdy. The two zipper doorways operate good as well. It is also good at keeping the bugs out.
Nice screen room July 17, 2007 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
We've had several different types of screen rooms over the years & this one is the best so far. The one problem we had was during initial setup. The corner clips were nearly impossible to attach to the poles. Either the canopy material is too small or the poles are too long. I hope the material will eventually stretch out or if not I may have to cut off the bottom of the poles. But it kept the bugs out !!
Great screenhouse! June 25, 2007 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
We just got back from a camping trip. We set our screenhouse up around our picnic table (see the pictures above). We set it up like a kitchen. We put one end of the table up against the screen to leave room for a prep and dish washing station. It worked well for us. I liked to be able to leave all my supplies out with out it being directly effected by the elements and bugs.
We did add a removable sun shade to keep the sun from blaring in from the side.
The screenhouse has two doors. You can leave them open if you just want protection from the sun when it is overhead. We covered one of the doors with our removable sun shade and used the other door to get in and out.
We were easily able to see through the screen and watch the beautiful scenary and our kids playing while we kept away from the bugs.
I would reccomend this product. I am very glad that we bought it!
