Customer Reviews:
Good fan, but needed balancing and still isn't balanced September 21, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This fan is very effective. At the highest speed it's quiet and very powerful. The biggest problem I have with it is balancing the blades so that it doesn't vibrate at the highest speed. The process of balancing the blades is very tedious. We have two other fans (Hampton Bay and Harbor Breeze) and we didn't have to balance those. At the highest speed those two fans are very smooth, especially the Hampton Bay one). The other thing that bothered me is they left out a step to install the canopy trim ring. That part covers the top of the canopy so that you don't see the screws and make the top part look curvy and nicer. We didn't realize that there was a missing step until it was too late. It's a lot of work to go back and remove the whole fan in order to get the ring in. You need two people to install any ceiling fan because they're kinda heavy and your arms get tired while trying to fit the screws in.
Great Quality and Great Looking September 6, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We bought this fan for our 3rd floor office. It is very attractive and the quality is excellent. We liked that the light bulbs aren't 'showing' and face upwards. We paid under $100 for this and thought that was a good value for the size of the fan and the finish. Worth the money at this price.
not exactly what it seems August 18, 2008 11 out of 16 found this review helpful
I liked the look and its cooling but its mostly the Vaulted ceiling install I was not satisfied with this fan. A flat ceiling with just the small 6 inch downrod supplied is the easiest method and would get 5 stars. Things not mentioned. Fan uses candelabra bulbs, downrod is 1 inch diameter, and install is designed for wood (vaulted ceilings should have lower ceiling to higher ceiling as the direction of the beams).
I preformed the vaulted ceiling install with a 2 foot downrod because of the longer light kit 3 foot just seemed too low. My support beams were sidways but I did not know that until after I took down my old fan and finding a 1 inch downrod was very hard. I was not able to find any conversion kits or adapters that would work with 1 inch. The only 1 inch downrod I found available came unthreaded. Overall the install took me three weeks adapting the fan to fit and look professional and not something that looks like it is about to fall. I've done fan installs before some without any fixtures to mount a fan but this install has been the hardest. Final note. My 2 foot downrod was grinded down to fit then threaded using a 1 inch die NF14. Not something I would suggest is for everyone but I felt determined to get this to work.
