Our full sized cast scroll doormat features raised rubber legs and a great black base color with a antiqued bronze finish. It's a classic right out of the box. Plus, it's construction is pure cast aluminum which is good for a number of reasons most of which is it's rust proof! If you buy cast iron, it will rust and it will stain whatever it sits on. Cast aluminum will not rust and will maintain it's original black/bronze color indefinately.

I just recieved my doormat and it is beautiful. It was just MUCH smaller than I anticipated. My fault, I should have checked the dimensions. Great price for the size.
 Bronze Coating Is Chipping Off March 29, 2007

It was ok for the first year, but as it enters its second year, I notice that the bronze coating is actually chipping away from the aluminum. I'm going to try to call the manufacturer to see if there's a warranty, but I think throwing it out is the only option.

I didn't want the typical mat that would be getting soaked and staying dirty and wet. After a while regular rubber mats start looking ratty. This item works perfectly and doesn't keep moving around the steps! The style adds to the elegance of my front door. I could see that women in heels would have a problem though. Good finish, good price, quick ship.

This piece is well-made, durable and pretty to look at, but not a functional doormat. The way it is lifted from it's base on each of the four corners underneath with the cushioned 1 inch lifts, and the open design, will just make you 'sink' in between the holes, especially if you are a woman and wear heels. I stood on the mat with my high heels sunk between the scrolls and realized that since it was so heavy, and because I purchased it at such a good discount, that it wasn't worth the trouble of returning it. So I will put it on my deck and use it as a decorative plant holder. But NOT use it as a doormat.
