About Coleman
The Coleman Company has been creating and innovating products for recreational outdoor use since W.C. Coleman started selling gasoline-powered lanterns in 1900. Inventor of the hugely popular fold-up camp stove, Coleman developed a plastic liner for his galvanized steel coolers in 1957--the birth of the modern cooler--and the company has been improving their utility and design ever since. The array of products that bear the Coleman name now includes just about everything you might need to work or play outdoors, from tents and sleeping bags to boats, backpacks, and furniture.

5 out of 5 stars It's a Coleman Propane Stove   August 17, 2008
This stove is lightweight compared to the rest of the line, easy to clean, gets the job done and it's dependable. It's only problem is that the diameter of the burners is too small, you can't use 12" pots, and it doesn't have enough BTU's to boil water fast. Listen, if space is not an issue, get the Coleman 2 Burner Powerpack Stove. It's a couple of dollars more than this stove. It's quite a bit larger than this stove, and it's as nice as cooking on a gas stovetop at home. You can boil tons of water quick, saute calamari or scallops while you're camping if you're so inclined, or make pancakes for a mob of people on your Lodge Reversable Grill/Griddle. There's some trips I use a single burner backpack stove, and then the rest of the time I'm eatin' homefries and cheese omelette's. You could cook chicken marsala with portobello mushrooms and sage on the Powerpack stove. The stove I'm reviewing is a great stove, just not for a family.

4 out of 5 stars Just like cooking at home!   August 12, 2008
Awesome camping experience thanks to this stove. Rented from REI for $10 a night. Cooked soup, chicken, sausages at the same rate as cooking at home. Only thing is I neglected to bring strike-anywhere matches and had to improvise. We'll probably end up buying a stove with auto ignition but this is still a great stove.

5 out of 5 stars coleman stove   July 20, 2008
I used the stove for the first time last week. It functioned exactly as I expected. It was easy to adjust for a really low flame to fry eggs and boiled water fast when at I turned the heat up. Glad I bought this one . I read some reviews on some cheaper stoves not being able to hold a low flame so I spend a few dollars more and got this one and am glad I did.

5 out of 5 stars Won't Go Camping Without It   July 14, 2008

I've owned this little unit for almost ten years now, and I really wouldn't go camping without it. It's light weight, and I can cook anything that I would normally cook from the stove top at home. It's simple to set up -- just screw the gas feed tube into the stove and the canister and you're ready to go. It lights easily, and the gas flow regulator keeps the flame at a constant level. The little cannister of gas lasts for hours and hours for simmering.

We used this exclusively for an entire summer a couple of years ago, and it performed very well, indeed.

I'd like a clasp or something on the unit to store a gas canister when the unit's not in use, but that's really the only thing it's lacking. I've cooked full meals for six on this, which is stretching its abilities a little unless you're doing a stew or something. It's more suited for two or three people, but, for what it is, you can't get a better camp stove for the money. It's durable, easy to set-up and use, and packs away nicely.

3 out of 5 stars Just a good stove   June 25, 2008
Work OK but the burner control is some what touchy. Cant control the flame as good as my other Coleman stove.
