Product Description Soft Paws will fit most kittens by the time they reach the age of 16 weeks (4 months). Some kittens can wear them as early as age 12 weeks (3 months). To test, try a nail cap on first without the adhesive. If it looks too big, don?t glue it on. The nail cap should fit snugly, like a glove. Each Soft Paws kit contains 40 nail caps, 2 tubes of adhesive, applicator tips and easy to follow instructions. One kit contains enough for 4 front paw applications. Each application lasts approximately 4-6 weeks therefore each kit lasts approximately 4-6 months. To accommodate younger kittens, you can trim the base of the Soft Paws nail cap making it smaller so it will fit your kitten?s nail. Kittens up to about 5 pounds generally fit the kitten size. Kittens up to about 5 months generally fit the kitten size. This size can be safely used on Ferrets!

Great until they start to grow out September 17, 2007 I put these on my three month old kitten and they worked like a charm until they started to grow out. His nails got longer so the Soft Paws got further and further from his toes, which left a gap that exposed his real nails and an edge on the Soft Paws that caught on everything. The fireplace screen was especially troublesome and once he got a loop of carpet hooked around his real nail and couldn't slide it off because of the Soft Paw - I had to cut the carpet to free him. I'm just glad I was home when that happened. Afterwards I started to worry when I left the house that I'd come home and find he'd been stuck in the carpet or hanging from the fireplace screen for hours. When he did get stuck in things he'd freak out and start pulling his arm to get free and it looked horrible for his shoulder joint.
It's a shame they don't grow out better, because other than that problem they really worked well. But I won't be using them again.
Wonderful Wonderful Wonderful August 26, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We just adopted 2 kittens from our local shelter for our 6 year old and 3 year old kids. My husband wanted to get them declawed but I don't like declawing. So I thought I'd try these and it was the best thing I've done, the cats are 12 weeks old and it took them about 12 hours to really get used to them but now they don't even notice they are there. Now I don't have to worry about the kids getting scratced or my furniture for that matter, they have hot pink softpaws and it looks so cute especially on the black cat. I would definatly recommend trying these before declawing.
